I don't think it should be blamed on Dementia, this is just how he is. It's only that prior to being elected, the appeal to supporters was his aggressive manner, yelling out false hopes, being pretentious, acting tough, which is the only image he can project. He had not yet been put into a position to express himself genuinely, intelligently or presidentially, which he is incapable of. That is what is happening. The only persona he is familiar with is the one of bluster, the other he is totally unfamilar with and is why he comes of awkwardly (besides being that he is not very smart), only able to use superlatives and kiss the man's wife, TWICE. He is so uncomfortable.

See, the thing has been, some assuming beforehand he was brilliant, capable and "could save their lives", based upon what was percieved. Since his father apparently "inspired" him only in relating to $$, he lived behind that and (supposed) success, becoming all there was, but not developing in other areas. His self image is to do with that, nothing else. He has said he dislikes "weakness", so it was also likely instilled in him to "be a man", never relating to sensitivity, etc. He doesn't know how to be, and is shows, lacking empathy. (It has been said he is Sociopatic). Some desire a logical explanation for his behavior, as if he were just "normal" and requiring empathy due to health reasons...but, no.

As said, other presidents did not do this the same way. Clearly, ALL he has under his hat is wanting to make an impression. It was a pretty simple task and he couldn't even do that right.

Sad.

I like how Trump is genuine in the way he touches the soldier and shakes his hand. A lot of honesty and gratitude in his emotions, not manufactured and fake like other politicians.
Actually, the fact that he congratulated the soldier shows a complete disconnect for the sacrifices this soldier and many others make for their service. Not surprising considering his ignorance in just about everything having to do with the government. As usual he is the most clueless person in the room.

Remember he said he always wanted a purple heart. Perhaps he was jealous.

On one of the morning shows, they were speculating whether trump actually understands why a purple heart is awarded. Pathetic that we actually have to ask these questions about a potus.

They said that Obama tended to keep such things private. Not sure whether that's true. But I can see trump wanting to get photo ops out of such things if it garners him praise.

Trump congratulating a soldier on losing his leg is beyond awkward.

And what's with kissing the man's wife not once, but twice?

On the positive side, he didn't grab her.
