Former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will visit Chicago for a community meeting to discuss their planned library and museum.

The Obamas plan to host a round table discussion Wednesday to "update the community" on the progress of the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park on Chicago's South Side. The Obamas are also expected to hear from community members on their ideas for the library.

The project is expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars

And the arrogance continues.
Opening something named after yourself let alone costing millions of dollars.

Unless his book deal of over $60 million is paying for it and not the taxpayers?

I realize, Atalanta, that education and facts are SO hard to understand, but let me give you some quick learnin'. ALL Presidents have a library. It has nothing to do with "arrogance" or ego, it is simply a long standing (that means it has been around for a long time) tradition. Here, read this link:

Some day, you might even get to visit the Donald J. Trump library. It will probably be the big gold plated building that is filled with lots of colorful stick drawings, done in crayon. You won't be able to miss it, the word TRUMP will be in flashing lights right on the roof.

Do you actually know anything about what these libraries are for, or what is inside them ? I think you need to do a little readin'.

Arrogance could of been left out.

LOL. No, you didn't. Your OP proved that you had no idea. You thought this was something President Obama arrogantly came up with all by himself. In case you forgot your own post:

You had to be schooled by posters here about how ignorant your OP was. It's funny how you think you can just pretend you knew all along when the evidence to the contrary is right here in the thread. No one is buying it.

Judging by your grammar, you've never been inside a library, so I am no longer surprised you are AGAINST THEM ALL. You know, you may want to check one out one day, I have a feeling people who read do not say "could of been".

Why exactly are you against presidential libraries? I can't think of a single downside to having one. The cost is privately funded. It brings tourism into the community. They preserve important parts of our collective history. They bring important forums and speakers into a community, etc. etc.
