First of all, we all prefer our own kind.
As long as we acknowledge that part of our nature and don't allow that natural tendency to become overt hostility, we can all take each other's racism with a grain of salt and move on.
Exaggerating the effects of someone not liking you because of your race, when they have done nothing else to you except think less of you than you might hope, is just a sleazy way of justifying your own racist behavior that has crossed the line of civility.
