Brunel University academics studied 171 men aged 18 – 40, examining their overall physical strength, bicep circumference, weight, and height. They also noted the amount of time each individual spent at a gym, and examined these variables in light of whether they subscribed more to capitalist or socialist ideologies. They found that the more physically strong the men were, the less they believed in socialist policies, and the more they believed certain social groups should be dominant.

It stands to reason that people who believe in Social Darwinism would spend more time in the gym, as this study suggests. We should note, however, that this study was conducted in England. Here, in the US, the fattest states are overwhelmingly conservative, whereas the fittest are overwhelming liberal. Maybe that's why conservatives like their guns so much: they lack the strength, toughness and cardio to fight.

171 men is not a very big study group but the results are not that surprising.
Of course there are exceptions as with all things.

I wonder if they studied 171 men that had excelled at higher learning if they would find that they are mostly Democrats?

Still this is an interesting study and it seems to suggest that strong men will go out and get what they want while weaker men are happy to be given what they need.

They might be physically weaker but they probably have better cardio level from riding bicycles or jogging or something.
It's true the red counties and red states are fatter on average but I think you have to factor in the age of the populations to a degree.

Liberals tend to be more on the atheist side too.
Reliance on God builds a stronger America.

Liberals are more intellectual but lack God given common sense.
When the source is denied, don't expect to reap what the source provides.

Its better to be a bit of each.
