I have no idea what Politico/Morning Consult was predicting right before the election, and I'm not a trumper, but I think by 'they' TT meant Politico/Morning Consult specifically, not they = 'pollsters'....I may be wrong though.

Do you not understand how the pollsters work? Poll 2000 NYC dwellers and they get the low results they want. Poll 2000 blue collar workers in red states and the approval will be far different.

I can't find the breakdown by party for Politio/Morning Consult polls, but I'm pretty sure that it does not vary considerably from other pollsters, I don't think there are very many that show an equal split between D R and I which is what you seem to think would be 'fair'
It's because the current-generation of Americans suck. He would have had 80% approval rating decades ago

Your headline is wrong. Don't be like the conservatives and use alternative facts to draw people in.
