Rachel Maddow did an interesting show about some of the attorneys involved with the investigation. Dana Boente (R) is running the Eastern District of Virginia and is also running the National Security Division in Washington Dc. He is 4th in line in the Justice Department. He is also one of the people Comey confided in when he alleged that Trump had asked him to go public and say that there was no collusion. He allegedly advised Comey not to do it.

The Eastern District has also assembled a grand jury working on the Flynn case with a veteran espionage attorney Brandon Van Grek. Mueller also hired a cyber security expert and Mueller's former chief of staff of the FBI Aaron Zebley.

Lisa Page, a trial attorney with deep experience in money laundering has been working on an ongoing money laundering case involving a Ukrainian oligarch Dimitry Firtash. They have been unsuccessful in extraditing him. He was also a one time business partner of Paul Manafort.

An interesting tid bit. Pence hired Richard Cullen who also served as an attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. I guess the Eastern District has the best of the best? I swear this is better than any spy novel.

Its like watching a real life Tom Clancy novel that was based around just the political and spy aspects without any of the military parts. So far.

But maybe we're just in the introductory chapters. eeek.

Trump told a reporter verbatim, that he fired Comey because HE. WANTED. TO. Not because of other people's recommendation.

Unwise for a president to admit others are pulling the strings.

The buck stops... elsewhere, I guess.

As is tradition, the investigators will crawl through every aspect of the president's life with a magnifying glass. Doubtful Trump and some of his associates will survive that kind of scrutiny.

Mueller expands special counsel, hires 13 lawyers

And hiring more. And get this-compared to the watergate team, its still very small. All told the watergate investigation was initiated with a expectation of employing 90 people. Source:
http://media.washingtonpost.com/wp-s...rosecution.pdf

Page 11.

It looks like in the end they employed 38 full time attorneys, 2 consultants, and various other people (page 19).

So it looks like its still pretty small by comparison.

I think they're hiring lawyers loyal to democrats so they can cover up anything and everything they find on Obama and Clinton.

Oh look. how cute. A partisan smear attempt.

Mueller is considered beyond reproach by most, he is hiring some of the best in their field, and some of them have donated to Republicans.

Not true, the borough of Staten Island went for Trump by 10+ points. Manhattan went for Hillary because she sold out to Wall Street. The other boroughs went for Hillary because most of those residents are either union members, on welfare or illegals so they knew Crooked "H" would take care of them and have their backs.

That is a good question. I could not find out anything about Watergate, save that Leon Jarwoski hired a 'staff', but no mention of how many.

I don't recall the Clinton Affair involving many people. I doubt it was more than a few. Once he testified, and was caught in some lies, that sealed the deal for the Republican-majority House (although some R's broke ranks on some of the charges).
