I am Democrat but I am getting very tired of the rhetoric that is focused more on personality than pragmatism

Democrats need answers to problems -- not just diatribes against Trump--
But when McConnell has absolutely NO desire for bi-partisan discussion, keeps this bill under wraps from even his own party, and refuses to listen to any outside his small cabal---
Then it is very easy to be frustrated and to fear what the entrenched GOP leadership is trying to do to tear down Medicaid, and eventually Medicare and SS....
Ryan has preached nothing else since his first campaign and McConnell is willing to do that to get the Freedom Caucus behind the vote...and the mega donor money...

It's the 'pubs who have had 8 years to come up with an answer to Obamacare that they detest so much, and THIS IS their solution. Now that we've seen it, it's time to fight it and kill it. No one's grandma should get kicked out just so the 0.1% can further line their pockets...as if THEY care about the country's debt and future.

Due to Obama care my insurance costs have gone from $450 to $1080 a month in just 4 years. It's killing us self employed and many can no longer afford it. It was designed to fail and Dems also have had 8 years to fix it.

What plan have they come up with to rescue their program? Zilch. They just figured Hillary would win and we'd all be forced to single payer.

ACA was designed to fail and it's failing. If anyone does nothing it will fail within the next 2 years.

ACA wasn't perfect and both parties should had worked on improving it. Instead what we have now is a Republican controlled congress that wil make sure AAC fails and at the same time creating a worse solution.

But as long as the public rallies behind the Party banners we will get crappy bills that their sole purpose is to score political points rather than help actual Americans.

Maybe we deserve the crap that we have gotten and the even crappier stuff we are about to get but continue to blindly voting down party lines.

Our entire government has had ample time to fix it. I mean Democrats and Republicans and those few independent, Libertarian, Socialist (Sanders) have had ages to figure it out. We keep electing the same idiotic people over and over on both sides. It takes years for us to get rid of knuckleheads like Harry Reid and John Boehner. We elect people that their entire life was spent in pursuit of public office. Some of them are good but get burnt out. Some are just stupid to begin with. Some are criminal yet we continually elect these misfits to society.

Leave Sanders out of this mess. Here is at least one bill drafted by Sanders. I didn't look to see if there were others. You may not like the bill or Sanders, but it doesn't mean he has not worked to ensure everyone in the U.S. gets health care. https://www.sanders.senate.gov/downl...13?inline=file

Obviously, it went nowhere and his continuing push for Single Payer has gone nowhere.

Probably should have left him out. I am not saying that any of these Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Socialists didn't put something forth to try. I am saying that collectively the group has done nothing but bicker and complain about the other while in the back room have lunch and cocktails. We pay for this dysfunctional government and are blinded by their rhetoric depending on which side of the coin you choose to believe. I even believe that Reid, Boehner, Pelosi, Boxer, McConnell, and even Trump are even deep down human beings that care. The trouble is they just do not seem to know how to compromise and work together.

Moved to P&OC due to the partisan political nature of the discussion.

From what I know of the Masonic Lodge, the first degree level is to strip them of everything and reduce them to the level of poverty. They must ask/beg for clothing while there. The idea is to give them HUMILITY above all.

I have said ALL public servants should have to do the same for their first year of office. Live within ONLY the confines of government approved services, live where welfare/minimum wage would allow them, to have to go to food banks and soup kitchens and get clothing from church clothes centers. NO HELP ALLOWED from family or PACs.

Then, instead of acting like a body that governs like Caligula, they might have some compassion for the lowest of their constituents.

I have long said: when the wealthy, many of whom were made wealthy by the poorer masses, have eliminated all the "undesirables", who will physically clean their toilets? They don't already, and surely won't want to!!

That is the question to ask of them....who will they rule over and who will do the work they don't want to??

The poor and elderly and disabled USED to die off, not being one of the "fit" who would survive. It is known many for reining societies would put them out somewhere where they would survive or die off. Problem solved for the fit and able and moneyed.

Those societies have all collapsed and even the wealthier didn't survive long after. Hence the reason those great societies have died out. This, what's happening now is the beginning of the end for this great society of ours. It's been happening for a century, even with those like Roosevelt who changed things drastically, knowing the USA would collapse if action wasn't taken immediately.
Now the ruling "leaders" have decided "we the people" have been given too much, and time to rein us in IF they the wealthier rulers don't take a declining action against us to put us back a century, to the great depressive ( not depression) society that was happening a century ago.

I had a conversation with an Italian native who travels for work between the US and Italy. He said "a mature society cannot grow any more and will fall under it's weight of success and maturity".

Hence, folks, like ancient Egypt and ancient Greeksand ancient Roman societies, we too, the mature societies of the whole world will collapse.

The wealthier politicians who rule the world can't see this forest for the trees. When the lesser of our society fail, eventually so will the wealthy. And NO ONE,no matter how wealthy will survive if we are smote by global warming, exploding volcano, meteor strike, or non curable plague. But they won't get that until THEIR number is UP, along with or just after the rest of us.

May God, if they believe, have mercy on their souls. Because I surely won't.
