Yep. NC has high gas tax. With that said, the gas station in the OP has dropped to $1.99/gallon. Very very cheap.

Even the Tesla guy is driving his 8 cyl Mercedes.

Even adjusted for inflation -- the price in December 2015 was cheaper than your original post.

Gas Prices Hit Historic Low Ahead of Fourth of July Weekend | Fortune.com

Drill Baby Drill - Sarah Palin called it right.

About 2015, Obama said their would be a million electric cars on the road. Where are they?

Eh...my gas was cheaper when Obama was president.

I also paid about $2 recently but in the past 5 years I've paid as low as $1.29/gallon for gas.

Simply put, there's still a huge glut. THAT'S why prices have remained low. OPEC forced prices down, not U.S. oil producers who will do anything to get prices way the hell back up again.

Moreover, I have to laugh at how many people on the right were bemoaning the cheap gas prices because it kicked the frackers in the ass. But Obama was the president then. Now under Trump, cheap gas is great all of a sudden.

My memory is long...and very good.
It's interesting. Here in the oil patch they all voted for Trump because he was going to "bring the oil field back" (along with the coal of course).

Dude told everybody what they wanted to hear.

It says it is an historic low for "summer driving season" but not that it is the lowest ever or even the lowest in the past 5 years.

Sarah Palin was right. Drilling would bring down the price. There's so much gasoline now, the USA is an exporter!

On the other hand, Obama told us there would be a millions of electric cars on the road by now Spent 10s of billions to promote it. Yet there are only a tiny fraction. Another failure by Obama.
Sure, don't worry about the environment. Drill, baby drill, and pollute with those huge SUVs that carry nobody all day because you can!!!!....Who cares about the earth once you're dead. Drill baby drill. So typically ugly republican mentality.

Manufacturing of a single Tesla battery produces more green house gasses than 8 years of driving.

Nobody has said where those million plus electric cars are, which Obama would said would be on the road by now. Taxpayers paid billions for it too.

Energy is a weapon, and the markets are the battlefields.
