Nonsense. When the oil fields were laying guys off in huge numbers just a few years ago, gas was even cheaper than it is now. And the oilfields, while nowhere near the production and hiring they were up to during the boom, are back in the game again. But that's not the factor that people think it is.
Simply put, there's still a huge glut. THAT'S why prices have remained low. OPEC forced prices down, not U.S. oil producers who will do anything to get prices way the hell back up again.
Moreover, I have to laugh at how many people on the right were bemoaning the cheap gas prices because it kicked the frackers in the ass. But Obama was the president then. Now under Trump, cheap gas is great all of a sudden.
My memory is long...and very good.
It's interesting. Here in the oil patch they all voted for Trump because he was going to "bring the oil field back" (along with the coal of course).
Gas near my house is $2.01/gallon. With inflation considered, this is the least expensive that it's ever been.
Sarah Palin was right. Drilling would bring down the price. There's so much gasoline now, the USA is an exporter!
On the other hand, Obama told us there would be a millions of electric cars on the road by now Spent 10s of billions to promote it. Yet there are only a tiny fraction. Another failure by Obama.

Nobody has said where those million plus electric cars are, which Obama would said would be on the road by now. Taxpayers paid billions for it too.
What I find so funny is that the right believes everything from pizza joint molester factories, to Sandy Hook and 9/11 denial, to 'false flag this and false flag that'. But the very thing that is possibly closest to an elitist, globalist controlled and manipulated commodity is just open to the vagaries or whim and can be predicted by an idiot from Moose Lick Alaska. There is nothing you can mention that is more conspired over, driven more world action, caused more national intrigue than oil. Whose economy has been severely damaged by cheap oil? Why do the Saudi's continue to overproduce? Why did the Chinese try to crash the American solar market by dumping cheap solar calls into the west? Energy is a weapon, and the markets are the battlefields.
