I'm talking about the large mass votes and interest groups. There are many individual voters who vote republican, vote democrat or are independent based on singular issues. Abortion has a larger opposition base than gay marriage although there are those who like to see gay marriage rolled back for religious reasons. I was thinking more about black issues in the earlier post and these are almost entirely manufactured sideshow issues. Black issues are more a "legacy issue" than anything else that has nothing really to do with Most of the important issues that have sprung up since 2000.

They wanted Obama to fail from the beginning. Throughout his entire Presidency, people were fishing for ways to make him out to be an illegitimate President, the most well known of which is the accusation that he wasn't born in the USA. People love Donald Trump because his top priority is to completely undo Obama's legacy in its entirety. Most people seem to want ALL of Obama's legacy gone, both the good and the not so good, because they can't face that so much was accomplished by our first African-American President.

They can't accept that Obama's Presidency represented the change of the guard in this country to a more tolerant, equal, diverse, and just America. They are doing everything they can to turn back the clock, even if it means damaging the country to do it.
As an anti Trump person, I think it's a stretch. Obama wasn't that successful and even if there is some truth to what you wrote, it's far from the whole picture. Changes in this country (in the directions you mention) began long ago, even before Clinton. There were changes in employment, decimation of entire industries, outsourcing, a tsunami of legal and illegal immigration. To say that Trump was elected because of Obama...?
Trump is a player in the change in American politics: no more left vs. right, but identity politics - "us against them". Therefore everything that separates us from the other group is great. Trump just rides the wave.

But they will never see it.

Many many of us SEE IT.

They first and foremost choose not to, due to his color.

Nothing worse than being born brown!!!!!!....and they need to thank their lucky
stars they were born white....how would they handle being brown?

While Obama may not have been sincere, a great many of his voters were
Yes "progressive $h1t". Did I stutter?

Let's say for argument's sake that I have misjudged progressives and that many of them understand how their faddish social justice fetish, their penchant for Orwellian speech suppression, their socialist redistribution schemes and their elitist condescension drove moderate Americans into the arms of the GOP. That's utter BS and we both know that they don't get it. I've never talked to one who did but even if I'm wrong it's totally beside the point. Post-game analytics are not nearly as important for the winner as they are for the loser. Our understanding of Trump's win is not nearly as important as liberals understanding of why they lost.

If you say my conclusion about progressive denial is wrong then are you willing to admit that those factors I describe above are why centrists swung to Trump?

Well, for one thing, she can claim (and she'd be telling the truth) that she got more votes in an election than any presidential candidate in US History.

Popularity matters to Donald John Trump. More than being President.

He would LOVE IT if he was HRC right now. He could brag and brag and trade on how he won the most votes ever and the USA just wasn't ready for such an "honest" guy as him who "does all the best things" while he was selling all that campaign trail footage to the highest bidder for a reality show on running for President that he could use to dig at HRC and her administration.

But, instead, he won by some sort of fluke, be it Russian influence or dumb luck, and here he is...

Unpopular. Got the fewest votes by MILLIONS. Lowest inaugural attendance in decades.

Low approval ratings.

Cannot broker deals in Congress.

Constantly being made fun of and generally out of his element on the world stage.

Sucks to be him.

I don't agree with everything you said but I do agree that those who were anti-Obama didn't like him because of his race. Other then passing Obama care he was a decent president overall he didn't do anything bad or good in my eyes he was just sort of there. That was more then enough to upset those on the right and push them to vote for someone like Trump who was the complete opposite of Obama.

I believe this is why Trump dislikes Obama Trump can't be that person nor does his followers want him to be. They like Trump believe that America is the greatest county in the world and the rest of the world should want to be like us.

Where Obama had class and showed it everywhere he went, Trump is like a bull in a china store.
He doesn't care who he offends he has no tact. He seems to believe that American has the right to push everyone around and makes no apologies for it.

In fact that want more of Trump making an arse of himself and pushing people around. Trump being rich thinks he has the right to say and to whatever he wants.

Those who voted for him love this about him.
