A New Version of Me: Dear VP Pence, What Exactly Do You Mean by "Personal Responsibility"?

Wonder if Pence or any other Republicans will actually read this (assuming she sent this letter to them)?

What a stupid letter from an obviously stupid mom, which is par for the course these days. The personal responsibility is HERS, not her child's. Not until the kid is 18 at least. Figures the moron doesn't understand that.

Person responsibility is used by Republicans to say ,Pay for it yourself. Don't depend on the government. Do you see how much they care about your life? Now, if you were a big business and business was down they would be more concerned, you see, if your not wealthy or a big business owner they don't want to know your name. Remember this when voting, don't vote for Republicans who don't work for your best interests.

I see you didn't actually read the letter.

Fair enough, but you don't really have room to judge it then, do you?

The ONLY people who don't believe in personal responsibility are freeloaders.

And when the child is 18? What then? The reality is that children like hers will outlive their parents and will still need someone to care for them. That's not the parents (or the disabled children) failing to take responsibility, but society's failure to acknowledge and accommodate those who cannot care for themselves.

So nobody in govt is supposed to talk about personal responsibility because someone has a kid born with a disability?

If they are disabled they will be taken care of when they are of age. For now it's HER responsibility to find out the path to take and how to go about it. That's how it works when you decide to have children. If they have to move to a more affordable living situation so they can afford the care then THAT is the personal responsibility that she needs to take. Making payments on an expensive car? Get rid of it and drive something affordable. Going on vacations every year? Cancel them.
