What is the cause of the terrorists' production?
It is not solely ideology that causes terrorism. It is extreme ideological interpretation combined with war, poverty and despair. The combination makes a vat of burbling that cause the kind of unrest we are seeing. The super freaks on the fringes who embrace the ideology alone are likely mentally ill like many of the white terrorists you see bombing buildings and churches in the US.

What is the cause of the terrorists' production?
Hatred.
And no, I'm not stupid enough to know this isn't just thinly veiled racism. You hate Muslims. Own it.
But hatred is my answer. You know how people keep bringing up a civil war in America? Honest answer, who would be fighting it? Left wing terrorists vs right wing terrorists. There will be no governments involved in that. It would be terrorists, and what motivates them? Largely very different ideologies, but the thing that unifies them is hatred. Hatred for those unlike them.
The root enabler of fanaticism is faith based epistemology. The largest current offender is Islam, but even that would be unable to breed terrorism without people elevating faith as a virtue over reason.
Good answers so far and I would add in poverty, lack of education and little hope for the future.
You take young men from that background and promise them a bright future fighting the infidels that have invaded their country, give them food, clothing, guns and ask for nothing but their devotion and that is a deadly mix for someone to become radicalized.
