Not surprised that she won though. When I was in Germany last year. The majority of people there said they supported her and it was their duty to help all the immigrants from the ME because of their involvement in WW2
Germans are a very interesting bunch. I had the chance to meet many of them in the tech field, and obviously they speak with an accent, like soccer(football) more, like German beer, etc. Those were obvious. But what surprised me was the way they viewed the world.
-they really believe they have to shoulder the blame for WWII
-they hate nationalism and want to give the EU more power
-some, but not all, were actually our right calling for the UN to take full control of matters, not just voting and suggesting things, but having legal and military power
-they believe Islam > Christianity, but some of them were still Christians. They believe that main stream Christianity is a greater threat to Western world than Islam.
Just surprised, I always knew Germans were more liberal than USA, but it is a whole other level. One thing I have to give them credit is, they actually talked to me about WWII and knew some real details. Japanese for example refuse to talk about WWII and I think they really ignore the whole era. I am guessing it is a literally blank sheet for them.
Germany has allowed the memory of Hitler, and WWII to shape their decline. Too bad. They used to make some good stuff.
Doomed if they do, doomed if they don't. Seems like the poor Germans can't ever satisfy whatever it is that Americans or other people expect. If they are proud of Germany in any way they are Nazis who can never rid themselves of their past. If they aren't they are p*ssys who let da Mahslims rape their daughters and wifes.
