It would be nice if we could see what all medical care costs us so we could shop around for the best price.

The only consumer product or service that has increased more than medical care services and about the same as hospital costs over the last several decades is college tuition and fees,
As usual, the more the government subsidizes something, the more expensive it gets. One of the reasons that socialized healthcare is such a stupid idea.

Another example is laser eye surgery which keeps coming down in price.

We are supposedly the leader of the world but we are really stupid when it comes to healthcare. What are you guys scared about having universal healthcare. There are over 58 countries that have healthcare for all.....some even implemented in the early 1900's.

What were those countries that implemented healthcare in the early 1900's doing in 1942?

MY husband does not have a 9-5 job anymore working for a company so he got on a health sharing insurance----Obamacare is too expensive and the deductions are way too high.

He had to have a cat scan so he shopped around. He found a imaging place that charged half what the place he was going to so guess what----he went with the lower price place.

This could be done all the time if insurance would let us. Most health costs are routine doctors appointments and if we could shop around those costs would come down fast.

It sure looks like that's the idea being presented, but surely no one is that dense?

It should be that way.
Still shouldn't be this hard but it may be getting better.
