Is this where we are headed, we give up all human rights and respect for low paying jobs that ultimately will benefit foreign companies?

Quote:
The head of the Taiwanese company that plans to bring thousands of jobs to Wisconsin five years ago compared his workers to animals and had the director of a zoo give his executives management tips.
Quote:
"The Foxconn CEO’s animosity to workers and his corporation’s documented poor treatment of them is yet another red flag," Browne said in a statement.
Quote:
"Before we spend one dime of our tax dollars to subsidize Foxconn’s operations, there need to be ironclad worker protections written into law."

That's what you get with the "Right to Work in a Sweatshop" states.

I seemed to have missed what rights were being taken away.

You have not heard about how Foxconn treats its employees in China?

Conditions are grueling, employees are overworked and underpaid, and living quarters are crowded.
Quote:
They keep their employees in overcrowded dormitories run by military-like security forces. People work excessive hours, often with no compensation for overtime, which the company claims is done voluntarily. Management controls every aspect of workers’ lives, interfering with their privacy. The concept of privacy is even an illusion, as up to 24 people share a room in huge blockhouses.
Quote:
Time off is usually only used for rest as people regularly work shifts of 11 to 13 hours. Working hours are so long that people sleep in the factories when a new product is being released. Additionally, if targets are not met, lunch breaks are also cancelled. Days off are rare and trips home to visit family are only allowed once a year.

Yet, because they obviously Foxconn is not operational here as yet. You think a CEO who has treated his employees as he has in China will not do the same here? We need to be proactive on this one!
