Lol, sure that must be the reason. While Metallica (still with James, last time I checked) is in.
Not to say, that many deserving bands are not left out.
Meanwhile Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, etc. aren't there either... No music fan should even claim that any of these fans don't deserve it.
Ted Nugent has been eligible for the honor as a solo artist since 2000.
"And so I'm on the board of directors of the NRA, Jan Wenner hates the Second Amendment, so that's the only reason I'm not in the Rock And Roll Of Fame. And until they get their heads out of their ass, I'm more than happy to do what I do and do it with all the vim and vigor that I do it every night."
..Hey, write this down. My name is Ted Nugent. I am the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Eat me!"
Lynyrd Skynyrd, southern rock band that loves guns and God. They are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I don't think Ted's love of guns is the problem.
Stephen Tyler loves guns and Aerosmith is in there, too.

Uncle Ted, telling it like it is, in his flamboyant ways!
Gotta love the guy.
There is no reason but his politics, as to why he is not plastered on the walls of the R&R Hall of Fame.
No reason...except all of the reasons offered in this thread. Perhaps his music is just not that great, and his body of work as a musical artist doesn't warrant an induction. Couldn't be something simple like that.
No no, Gots to be because he like dem guns...uh huh.
How about the fact he has never had an album reach top 10 on the charts and has only had one single reach the top 50 on the charts? (Cat Scratch Fever peaked at #30)
I agree with a lot of his political positions but I don't think his accomplishments necessarily merit making it to the Rock & Roll hall of Fame. I will say that if he was Beatles and Elvis' mentor, he wouldn't make it because of his politics because for sure those in the entertainment industry are highly biased against any Conservative.

All three of those other artists mentioned will probably get in at some point.
I didn't know that Yes got in! That's great news then.
Ted can just forget it. The only way he's getting to Cleveland is with a ticket.
Alice Cooper is just as right wing as Ted is, and he's in. So what's Ted's BS excuse?
