The LEFT is removing statues... renaming buildings, streets, bridges, parks, etc... banning books from school curriculum reading lists, etc. The LEFT is doing EXACTLY what Orwell warned about in 1984...

I know how things work in the places where I've lived. We don't have a lot of Confederate anything here in California.
Since Confederate statues are of national historic interest -- and all Americans should be able to appreciate the artifacts of American history -- they should not just be a local issue. They should be protected nationwide and kept where they were originally erected.
It's interesting to see the Left -- which considers itself so "intellectual", "cultured" and "sophisticated" -- delighting in the destruction of art and history, just like the Taliban and ISIS....
But of course, this nothing new for the Left, which did the same thing in Russia, China and Cambodia.

Some of us have actually read him, and know that he opposes b.s. -- which the Left in this country is full of nowadays.
Just keep in mind some of the same great minds that just slunk away from a right wing conspiracy thread calling the Charlottesville organizer a deep state plant (debunked), are here spinning some new "theories". Grain of salt!
And some when they read Orwell, never caught on that he was warning about them! That takes a "special" kind of mind. Deep down they accept the construct , but desperately need to twist it to suit their narrative. Orwellian indeed!
Sorry to inform you, but Orwell didn't support erasing history or anything that might remotely come close to that.
The fact that you don't know that -- or pretend not to know it -- shows that you haven't read him or are trying to deceive others.
