Perhaps a solution to the debate over the Lee statue in Charlottesville would be to erect statues of Nat Turner, Gabriel Prosser, and John Brown. All had connections to Virginia and all had noble intentions, even if they, like Lee, were unsuccessful in their attempt to carry them out.
Maybe adding instead of removing statues is the answer. Thoughts?
Too late. And probably impractical. Many of the prime sites are small and in centaraal areas. You would have to destroy the base site or the surrounding neighborhood to provide equivalent sites.
What we might do constructively is move old and new statues to a historical site or a park or a cemetery where all could be visited by those so inclined.
I see no reward for destroying the statues. Just need appropriate locations.

The American people have no idea who you are referring to. If it's not on twitter, it doesn't exist.
Wait til they learn who all had slaves! Not just the south. They won't be able to travel anywhere. They'll be demanding Versailles be torn down. The Rhodes scholar rebranded as the Road scholar.etc..etc..
We have a really stupid, in the truest sense of the word, population. No wonder our empire is done.

I agree as long as some huge pigeon coops are placed nearby.

Someone then counters with a set of feral cats. The one that lived on our patio for 12 years kept the pigions away. Now we are trying to find a replacement but roof oriented ferals are hard to find.
More seriously organized pigeon roosts may be just the right thing. Maybe we could mount some on wheels and rent them out...
