The lazy are out there... but it's easy to get in that frame of mind when the situation presents itself after being unemployed for a time.

I understand... but it does take some mental discipline after not working for a time to avoid falling into a lazy mindset.

Not disagreeing with you...

A large chunk still work McJobs while in school as teens, and then move on to adult jobs after obtaining the Education they need for 21st century jobs.

Just a small percentage stay at McJobs in their middle of "career" prime-earning years.

Plus places like McDonalds like to hire from within so even if that is where you want to work for the next 20 years you can work your way up the ladder, until R2D2 takes your spot.

They have never been very low. They will always be much higher than highly educated people. So thats not something new or something you can chalk up to minimum wage hikes. Thats just dishonest. So the results are in. And the reality is clear, the gripes about minimum wage hikes are just scare mongering. Unemployment rates can hardly get any lower.

Keep in mind, that there are lots of people with jobs at or close to minimum wage right now that I very rarely see right wingers gripe about. Do you know how much hair dressers, taxi drivers, ambulance drivers and nursing assistants make? The typical hourly wage is $11.50-$13.00 an hour. That includes any tips. Fast food workers make $9.40 and dishwashers $10.00 an hour on average. Whats so great about these ultra low wages? Its not only "McDonalds workers" who benefit from a minimum wage hike. The typical warehouse workers and ambulance drivers that make $11-12 an hour is not something that should be defended.
