The London times reported there are over 23,000 jihadist extremists in the uk 23,000!

Yet every time these attacks happen , the suspect is always " on the radar" and being watched. This is why people turn to far right parties, the conservatives and liberals, republicans and democrats ( labour and tories) are just so weak, impotent, and ineffectual.

If you end up on a radar , there is a probably a very good reason

Intelligence officers have said they have identified 23,000 jihadist extremists living in the United Kingdom, according to a report by the Times of London on Saturday.

Of the 23,000 radical jihadists identified in the United Kingdom, the intelligence sources said about 3,000 are believed to pose a “threat” and are currently being investigated or actively monitored. “The 20,000 others have featured in previous inquiries and are categorised as posing a ‘residual risk,’” reported the Times.

It's a good way to make it look like the government was sort-of doing its job without having to take the icky next step of arresting a politically-preferred individual.

Exactly. They only say that so they don't look even more incompetent.

Welcome to the EU.

Thankfully the USA barely skirted the same by voting against Obama's policies and not electing Bill Clinton's wife.

But you can't just round people up and arrest them until they actually do something illegal. These people probably got on the radar by attending an extremist talk or something like that, which in itself isn't against the law.

This reminds me of that bill to prevent people on no fly lists from buying a gun. People were arguing that the determination could be faulty and you can't take away people's rights until there is proven wrongdoing. Seems like same principle.

Their on the radar because other Muslims heard them say some radical stuff and turned them in. Just like the other terrorists in the London and Manchester attacks. But the police can't and won't police free speech in England and if they do, free speech advocates will complain so it ends up with the terrorists saying they "want to blow up a train" and the best police can do is watch.
