Getting so sick and tired of this kind of thing happening in this country and would hope the numbers are growing. Also the premise that a "good guy with a gun" could have done something. What is a person doing with an AR-15 and enough ammunition to hold off a small army? We need to collectively have a serious chat about controlling the sale of automatic weapons/ammunition, NRA be damned.
Nope. Second amendment. Of course, there were no automatic weapons when that amendment was written, and it referred to a militia, but those facts are neither here nor there.
We cannot talk about restricting guns in any way here in the U.S. It's been decreed by the NRA and its adherents.
See you all here in another 10 days, so we can all wring our hands and lament that there is simply nothing to be done. If we are unwilling to deal with the problem we have with the gun culture in this country then we have to accept that this is just life in America now.
Really ? Wow, I didn't know about her citizenship either. And I didn't know if that post fro m Antifa was real. Very interesting.
It WAS real. I reported it to FB and they responded immediately and sent me a message back telling me that action had been taken. Their page is still up, but the post is gone now. Who knows?!
Academy (at least here in Texas anyway). I can buy an AR-15 with no problem, but I prefer sidearms to long guns. All you have to do is switch the selector-switch from "semi" to "auto" on your AR-15. Then viola...
Don't be ignorant. It isn't that easy to get a class III firearm.
Trump tweeted his "warmest condolences" to the victims. Even when he tries to sound consoling he comes across as a total clown. He is so far in over his head as President.
If he didn't tweet you would be negative about him also.
In the end at least 50 are dead, 400+ are injured. Pray for their families and those who are having to go through recovery from this.
The man who did this was deranged. It was senseless. His family said they talked to him every once in awhile but it sounds like they really didn't know his state of mind.
I hope law enforcement are able to figure out why this happened.
I completely agree about mental illness. It is still the elephant in the room in this country.
Illness is an interesting thing. My grandpa has no issues wearing glasses, but he's embarrassed to wear his hearing aid. Makes no sense to me.
There's no negative stigma attached to having cancer, but there is with depression. You wouldn't tell a cancer patient to just "suck it up and get better" but society has no problems saying "cheer up" to someone with depression.
while these mass shootings are tragic, they aren't responsible for very many deaths per year in the us. We should be more worried about obesity and car crashes than deaths from mass shootings.
then put down that cupcake.
