That’s all. It’ll probably break out into a full scale Civil War Basque Country style. Lots of terrorism featuring bombings, assassinations, etc...and the United States shouldn’t take sides or supply any group with weapons or logistical support. Spain’s membership in NATO should probably be re-evaluated and at least suspended until there’s a resolution. And if the violence gets bad enough and things become protracted, we need to remove all U.S. forces from any Spanish territory. They aren needed anyway. Cold War relics.

Anyway, good luck, Spain! See ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya!

We already have taken sides calling for Spanish unity. Catalonia has a history of Muslim domination and a large Muslim population. It won't be long before Trump sends special forces troops there on a secret mission. We'll turn Barcelona into another Aleppo eventually.

It's not going to turn into 1936 all over again.

That said I wonder if Trump coming out against Catalan independence made Catalans vote for independence. Barcelona is a very left wing city and I doubt Trump is popular there

Trump needs to shut his damn mouth. He can’t even handle what’s on his plate already.

Trump needs to not make comments and the US needs to stay out of that mess.

US doesn't have much interests in play, so why pick a side? What is the point of doing anything in regards to NATO? Catalonia is the economic powerhouse of the current Spain, so its understandable Spain is reluctant to let it go, but there is no need for US to be for one and against the other. We can be with both

Trump is not popular anywhere outside the US and even here most people think he is a fool.

I agree.
Oh we may very well be them in the not too distant future, and we would make anything they do look like a cake walk.

Trump probably has no idea who or what Catalan is, and if he has heard of them he probably thinks it some sort of wine. He should not say a word, which means OMG he probably will.
