But they're women! And one's a Jew and one is brown. So they must not be qualified, right? Who cares if one was on the federal bench (nominated by GHW Bush, btw) and the other was solicitor general and then the dean of Harvard Law.

So it turns out, the 36 year old lawyer picked for a federal judiciary position, who was unanimously rejected by the Bar Association as unqualified and who has such a right-wing bias he's unfit for the judiciary, was picked and approved by Trump/Republicans, because he's married to a senior White House Counsel lawyer.

This is so astronomically corrupt. Say what you want about Obama, but his Administration was never this openly corrupt and criminal. This isn't some limited administration position, it's a life-time term to a federal court, and people getting approved are only getting it because of their right-wing extremism and ties to the White House.

So disgusting. Republicans are truly the most corrupt people on the planet.

I think Trump appoints unqualified people, just to prove he can do it. It serves his ego, to choose the very worst ones for important jobs and then to be able to force us to accept them.

No, but failure to disclose a conflict of interest is suspect.

How come people don’t bother to ask WHY anymore?

It isn’t criminal to be married, but concealing the relationship stinks to high heaven.

Bottom line--Trump has, from childhood, gotten away with whatever he could get away with. He was the spoiled rich kid who ignored moral and ethical standards until the hammer was put down on him. Then he would just veer off and find another unethical way to flout accepted standards. He was and is a CON-ARTIST. That is what they do. That is what he does. That is why his own city and state didn't vote for him. They know. It's happened often to their own.

By electing him, his voters reinforced, "WE LIKE your non-conformity and your flouting accepted ethical standards. We don't like ethics/integrity for ourselves either. We like that you screw with right and wrong and make it up as you go along. If you want to say one thing one minute and the complete opposite in the next breath---cool. Lying totally messes with the do-rights. One big yuck."

Like draws like. Unethical draws unethical. We've seen SO MANY examples of this in Trump's administration. (I feel for the rare exception who happens to slip into that administration thinking they may be able to do the actual right thing.)

Now, Trump's in a position where any hammer that comes down will likely fall slowly and well after the fact. In the meantime, he strolls and trolls merrily along, still breaking every rule and throwing up every asininity he can get away with. Only major outrage and blowback affects him, if that. And he is so ethically bankrupt, his actions are so regularly inclined that way and there are so many of them, that, even if we are willing to speak up, there is such a tidal wave of Trumpian unethical B.S. that there is no way any ethical person or group can keep up; even if there were actual, immediate consequences available to be imposed. He's like the Tasmanian devil of unethical behavior.

If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance-- he can't. None to be had for Trump.

Then baffle them with your bullshit--and, oh,yes he does. Constantly. And his faithful love it. A measure of who they are as well as who he is.

Like having John Gotti Lite for president. With his motley, ethics-be-damned Trump mafia--some posting here.

There is no other reason for this nomination, because he sure didn't pick him for his qualifications and experience, of which he has absolutely none.

Amazing how conservatives are always complaining about Affirmative Action, when in reality unqualified white men are the ones who are always getting preference over more qualified women and minorities.
How is would his wife be in a position that he presides over? You were and remain wrong. And I supplied you the definition of nepotism as defined by federal law. Nothing in this scenario represents nepotism. And nothing you write will change that.

There is no conflict of interest unless his wife has a case in front of him while he's the judge.

The crying in this thread by liberals trying to concoct some impropriety every time the Trump Whitehouse does something is hysterical. Keep the crazy talk coming.

Of course, not, because it's all double standards all the time.
