Never seen a Democrat like you shy away from a tax hike. This is a first.
You guys sure pulled a fast one on the Conservatives, to get the tax increases Democrats always desire, so they can spend more.

You know there may be hope for the deficit, when the debt clock stopped once this year and was going the opposite direction it has always gone for the first time ever.

The deficit only gets reduced, when spending is reduced. Not when taxes are increased.

Nor have they made any other attempt to reduce it. The debt is predicted to grow by 11 trillion in the next 10 years.

There isn’t a tax cut that Democrats won’t call a “tax cut for the rich”. They almost unanimously voted against an amendment to raise the child tax credit for poor people. They just want more of your money they don't care who gives it to them.

I am not a Democrat, but don't you see the difference between raising taxes to finance something like healthcare, or education compared and hiking taxes while offering less in return. The tax bill is nothing but wealth redistribution from the middle class to the elite.

Exactly. The Democrats are also huge fans of regressive taxes that hit poor and middle class people the hardest. They love raising taxes on things like gas and cigarettes because they can really stick it to working Americans that way.

Spending hasn't been reduced. It's incompetence to cut one and not the other.

No, they aren't going to do that next.

Personally I would expect massive amounts of democrats and their supporters send in mountains of checks to prove Trump and Republicans wrong.
LOL. No. If people get refunds, they should keep them. The Rs said those Ds should get a refund, so might as well. When most of the cuts for regular citizens expire, people will need the money to pay their taxes.

Have you even read the bill? SALT deductions literally only benefit the rich. The wealthy in blue states will pay substantially more. It doubles the standard deduction, doubles the child tax credit. Our business taxes were on the wrong side of the laffer curve and the way it was structured favored large corps over small and mid caps. The bill is great and clearly not aimed at helping the rich. The only argument for the rich you cold possibly make is that the bill will bid up stock prices which benefits the rich by increasing dividends, but that pretty much benefits everyone.

Or, you know...people can stop smoking if they cannot afford it. They can drive more efficient cars if they cannot afford to gas up a fuel hog.

Common sense stuff like that.
