I’m fairly certain congressmen elected to represent their district. What you’re seeing right now is a Congress that represents their respective parties and its donors.
If I were in Congress I would be inclined to thwart what the opposition was doing at all costs. However, if someone were to introduce a big plate of crispy bacon during a session, that might cause me to be a little more open to the idea of compromise.
