That's what liberals do, go out of their way to spread their bitterness. It's no wonder studies all show liberals being unhappy people.
It's really funny you should accuse liberals of being bitter since this forum is chock filled with thread after thread of conservatives bitching and moaning and complaining and being bitter about ... well, almost everything.
So the folks you are accusing of being liberals and bitter have enjoyed celebrating Christmas and all of its trappings, including saying Merry Christmas forever......and they are bitter but the conservatives who have felt oppressed, and resentful, and angry because they felt some non-existent force keeping them from saying Merry Christmas aren't bitter?
Yeah, it's total crap. I live and work in the heart of the most deeply religious portion of a Bible belt state, and as of December 22, I have only heard ONE person say "Merry Christmas" - the same person who was the only person I heard say it last year, and the year before.
Me.
This is about my 6th Christmas in the heart of the Bible Belt, and I have yet to hear one single, solitary person say "Merry Christmas" unless it's a response to me saying "Merry Christmas". And even that hasn't happened in so many years I can't even remember the specific instance; I just recall that it has happened at some point.
So I call bull**** on this whole narrative about the country finally feeling free to say "Merry Christmas." If they ain't saying it in Kentucky, the capital of all Christendom, then it's not much of a trend.
I have had it said to me well over 200 times this month here in Texas, and responded in kind to each one, so I don't know what you are on about. Probably heard it 50 times today alone as being the last working day before Christmas.
