I find that the people who typically complain the most about political correctness do so as a means to justify being uncivil bullies and bigots.
This is what I have found too.
Or -- they whine about political correctness until someone says something that mocks or attacks something they believe in - -then they whine that it's not nice to criticize other people and their view points.
I find it absolutely amazing that the Republican Party is now the party of rudeness and crudeness because being considerate is so..."politically correct". Please proceed GOP.
As a liberal, I blame this on safe space regressive liberals.
What law prevented you from saying it before Trump took office?
Absolutely nothing.

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't think anyone would take my sarcasm seriously. The merry Christmas line was ACTUALLY spoken in a commercial about how we should all be so grateful to our Sun King.
And yes, how he misrepresents reality is ****ing pathetic...
I see we're still playing dumb about what happened at the Trump campaign speech, where video clearly shows him mocking the reporter's behavior resulting from his physical impairment.
He does that to everyone he ridicules, not just cripples.
The crippled reporter lied about what Trump said, so the crippled reporter more than deserved what he got.
I don't feel sorry for the crippled reporter.
He shouldn't have lied about what Trump said.
Just because you're a cripple, or gay, or black, or a woman, or a trannie, or whatever, doesn't mean you get to lie about something.
But that's the essence of political correctness.
"Oh, this protected group shouldn't be held to the same standards as everyone else. Oh, we have to be s e n s i t i v e about their f e e l i n g s.
Now we are seeing the backlash to the OPPRESSION of Political Correctness, and the Progressive movement which at its core is anti American, and anti freedom. It is one of the major reasons Trump was elected. We're done with this crap.
then it seems that your life might be a little more enjoyable if those kids were taught manners (or political correctness), huh?
Political Correctness has NOTHING to do with manners, it has to do with HONESTY. You don't have to be PC to say please, and thank you, and holding open doors, etc.

Back in college, I was in a "safe space" one time. I mentioned that East Asians eat a lot of rice (I'm East Asian by the way). The entire safe space community came onto me with a vengeance telling me not to offend Asians like that. What's wrong with eating a lot of rice? And it's a fact that we do eat a lot of rice. I was officially given a warning by the safe space dude there for offending people with that statement.
I agree with you with everything you said in the quoted post. But unfortunately, to regressive liberals PC means yelling down any voice who disagrees with them. And that's why DT won. I blame the DT fiasco on regressive liberals.
As progressive liberals, we can either keep coddling the regressive liberals or tell them to STHU. If we continue to coddle them, we will continue to lose elections to charlatans like DT.

oh, having good manners encompasses more than saying please and thank you.
staring at someone is considered bad manners.
making fun of someone is considered bad manners.
etcetera
if tRump had a problem with what that reporter said or wrote he could have said something without making fun of his disability. is the fact that the reporter has a disability make him 'more' reprehensible (according to tRump) than if he was not disabled? what, exactly, did tRump hope to gain (other than the undying affection of his cult)?
is it ok now to, in public, point and laugh at someone who is cross-eyed? do you encourage your children to do that?
probably
