This, just before the campaign ended, him telling Haitians "I want to be your greatest champion".

I don't understand your issue here. Some Haitians were allowed to come in as refugees in a TEMPORARY status and now it has been years and it is time to go home.

Per your article:

“Clinton was responsible for doing things a lot of the Haitian people are not happy with,” Trump said from prepared remarks, referring to the aftermath of Haiti’s devastating Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake. “Taxpayer dollars intended for Haiti and the earthquake victims went to a lot of the Clinton cronies.”

My thought is that he thought he could do better than that ^^^. That does not mean letting Haitian refugees on temporary status or illegally present to continue to stay in our country. Trump promised America First and is trying to deliver. We have many homeless people, including children of our own that need care and cannot be the dumping ground of the world's poor and/or criminals.

So, be more specific about your issue. I take Trump very seriously and plan to hold him to "America First"!

Haiti is not a part in any way of the USA.

The only reason to take Trump "seriously" is because he managed to bamboozle millions of gullible people into electing him president. So we have to humor him - which is pretty much all his staff does. Apart from that, there is no real reason to take him seriously. As you correctly point out, he is an untrustworthy flip-flopper without any grounding in intellect, facts, or integrity.

If - as is likely to happen - he leaves the office covered with shame, the only people who will take him "seriously" thereafter are autograph seekers who keep imagining that the was a good businessman, or who regard him as admirably vicious in his pervasive hostility.

No one is deporting Haitian-Americans. Only the Haitians here on temporary status.

There are only two reasons I take Trump seriously:

A) He has that red button sitting on his desk

B) He gets confused easily and tweets a lot.......

He was elected. About 50% Americans supported him.
These people may not be in your friend circle but obviously are enormous.

Trump passed a nice tax decrease giving More buying power to Americans. The stock market loves Trump. He is respected around the world. Trump is no wimp. He had guts to say Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. The PLO terrorists don't like that. Too bad. Trump stands up for Christians. Got rid of LBJ legislation keeping the church from speaking about how the government is corrupt. President Trump is getting a lot of good things done for the country. It is getting done with major opposition. MAGA!!

Hillary Clinton embezzled the money that was supposed to help rebuild the country after the 2010 earthquake.

Methinks that 50% figure is a wee bit overstated.
