Of all the refugees NY State accepts - 94% settled outside of NY City in upstate NY. My husband works in a plant that has accepted many of these refugees for employment. 90% end up quitting or being fired. Just last week there was a problem in one of the boiler rooms and a refugee employee went around opening the gas lines into the area - he was fired on the spot as it could have caused an explosion. He was a refugee from Iran - employed there for the last 6 months.

We currently have 2 1/2 times the amt of people migrating from the state than immigrating - pretty soon - there won't be enough of a working population in the state to supply all the benefits many of those migrating here receive.

Personally, I don't care whether illegal immigrants are takers or contributors.

I care that they came into (or stayed in) the country illegally.

I care about the rule of law.

I care about national sovereignty.

Making this about race (when it is not) is a racist thing to do.

No,The cato institute doesnt have a stronger scholarly reputation then cis, the data is usually from the census, you are just making that up because you are pro immigration

The post you quoted is garbage the cato institute was not started by the koch brothers, Charles koch along with Ed Crane and Murray Rothbard helped found it as libertarian think tank and it has lost alot of people because of charles kochs influence and its pro immigration stance.

The notion that immigrants "use fewer services because their eligibility requirements are stricter and don't qualify as much and as easily for many things" is total garbage

This is just the cost of Illegal immigrants using welfare in LA county

Illegal immigrant families received nearly $1.3 billion in Los Angeles County welfare money during 2015 and 2016, nearly one-quarter of the amount spent on the county’s entire needy population

The data was obtained from the county Department of Public Social Services -- which is responsible for doling out the benefits

LA made $1.3B in illegal immigrant welfare payouts in just 2 years | Fox News

40% of LA county is on medicaid, 4 million people in one county, thats larger than many states! and the federal taxpayer continues to supplement Medi-Cal at larger and larger rates

The GOP healthcare plan will devastate Los Angeles - LA Times

Robert Rector heritage foundation-

Robert Rector, a Heritage Foundation senior fellow who has written extensive studies on poverty and illegal immigration, said the costs represent “the tip of the iceberg.”

He said the costs of education, police and fire, medical, and subsidized housing can total $24,000 per year in government spending per family, much more than would be paid in taxes.

“They get $3 in benefits for every $1 they spend,” Rector said.

Conservatives, post evidence to support your belief that immigrants tend to be welfare takers and criminals
It turns out the labor force participation rate of foreign born workers is higher than native born. That does not go well with the claim that they are here just to collect welfare.

Not a ton of confidence given his obvious bias, but I will read it and look at counterpoints as well. Thanks. I'll be back.

So basically, you created a trap thread so you could make yourself feel better about your crappy day?

Nice try - substituting "foreign born workers" for "illegal immigrants", which is the subject here.
Yeah, we don't really care why they are here.
They shouldn't be here. And that's the point.

Some have been here so long that they have Social Security numbers and are virtual Americans. We have little choice and must accommodate them in some way.

Others, like the lady holed up in the church in Denver, came in when they were 17, have been here 16 years and still need a translator.
She'll be fine in her home country.

No. That is not the question.

The question is why do liberal-progs insist on allowing people to immigrate to the US illegally?

All immigrants are not moochers. Illegals who did not go through the immigration process and refugees who commit any crimes 2 years after their arrival should be deported, and no welfare aid. There should be an evaluation period to see if the person can contribute without being a criminal and if they can, give them citizenship. No government aid during this time, and reform the laws so any child born here is not an instant citizen.

Plenty of Chinese people come here and bust their butts off providing the food I enjoy. If anything immigrants tend to appreciate this country more because they came from much worse, which is great if they contribute to society. We need real immigration reform to make it easier for nonviolent hard workers to be citizens and moochers and criminals to get deported.

This is what trump wants... Democrats just want to let in everyone and let criminals go back on the streets while screaming for more laws they never enforce that rob nonviolent law abiding people of their rights.
