Fairly realistic humanoid sex robots are nearly ready for the consumer market.

And, of course, there are male versions too: https://www.mirror.co.uk/tech/male-s...nises-11818283

But I think we are still a decade away from the sort of AI we see in the TV series Humans. (Not counting the part about giving them "consciousness" - which is a rather silly aspect of the TV series, realistically speaking.)

Keeping in mind that sex robots (including robot prostitutes) will be an increasing wide-scale reality within a year or two: I'm curious to know what people think of this. What types of legislation would you support or oppose with regard to sexuality involving robots? Do you think the overall impact on society will be positive or negative? (I'm thinking we can all agree that it will be a "mixed bag" of opportunities and problems, but I'm wondering if, overall, this is something that people will try to encourage, discourage, or simply "let the free market simply take us wherever the profits lead").

On a personal level, would you favor a judgmental attitude toward people who might want to use this product (i.e., promote social pressure to discourage people from feeling comfortable with sexy robots), or would you advocate for a more supportive "Nothing wrong with that" sort of attitude? In other words, do you hope society will try to shame people, or instead, treat this as just another sort of sexual diversity?

BTW: For a more technology-based discussion with lots of links to advancements in robotics, etc., showing the current state of affairs with robotics and AI in general, you might want to take a look at this thread that has been around for a couple of years: Sexy robots?

Finally possibly if it could be put into Bill form, Pres. Dump Trump would sign something he believes in.

I am not for it, Galenwoof. It is just to creepy. Blow up sex dolls are creepy, but this is real creepy.
What mind set of a person would have sex with a robot?

This stuff fascinates me. Sex robots keep getting more lifelike and AI keeps getting better...then what? I suspect people should stop worrying about robots taking their jobs and instead start worrying about them taking away our humanity. There are so many ethical questions coming up it's amazing. Some men are claiming sex robots will be a cure for feminism. Some women are claiming sex robots epitomize patriarchy and offer men a solution to the threat of female independence. Can sex robots be abused? Will child sex robots be legal? As AI gets better will sex robots have rights? Some guy built his very own Scarlett Johanssen robot, there's all kinds of YouTube videos about it...do people have the rights to their own likenesses? What if someone builds a sex robot that looks like you?

What a crazy-azz can of worms we are opening.

This.

I see no issue with it at all.

Additionally, what anyone else does with a home appliance in their bedroom has no effect on me.

BTW, at what point does a chip become a robot and need protection?

I’m fine with recycling in the first trimester.

While I imagine this is all quite fascinating to some, it's hardly political or controversial.

Folks want to use a vibrator or a stroker or whatever, it's their own business.

Wait -- are Republican Evangelicals wanting to legislate sex toys now?

Are self-proclaimed Christians going to refuse to bake cakes?
