His paper on Miami Mariel immigration is shoddy, but overall, he is right. More supply of workers ultimately leads to loss wages for natives.

Of course he's right and the problem we have is it's not only the oversupply issue, it's the fact that the supply of low skilled workers we've imported are willing to work for far less than the natives. What we need is a shortage of low skilled labor and low skilled workers demanding higher wages. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that when the illegals started flooding across our southern border is when working class wages stagnated. Which required more women to enter the workforce, which hurt our fertility rates, which caused us to need to import even more workers. It was/is a death spiral. Need to fix this.

Yes, it didn't bode well for the Native Americans who lived here before our Ancestors "immigrated".

Exactly! Let's see, keep pouring it on hoping for a different result? Can't wait to look like Pakistan.

Immigrants have founded 51% of U.S. billion-dollar startups and start 1/4 of new businesses in America. America's top STEM schools K-12 or university level are packed with first-generation immigrants - legal or illegal. Immigration gives America a level of competitiveness and vitality that allows us to remain economically relevant.

You're absolutely right, unfortunately we have one party and half the country, who don't understand basic economics.

It's common sense. There aren't enough jobs for citizens - many of whom are Puerto Ricans having to relocate here now that their homes are gone and those who legally made this their home.

We can only help other people up to the point where it starts hurting our own people.
