Someday, Liberal Democrats are going to state that they do not recognize the American flag, that it is a symbol of racism and that it might as well be the Confederate flag or Swastika.

Liberal Democrats will prefer the Mexican flag over the American flag. That day is coming.

The Democrat party has officially branded itself as the Anti-American Party.

That should work well for them in the future.

And I think many Americans finally got it loud and clear last night......

I think this open disrespect started during the Obama administration. I always watch the SOTU, and the opposing party always clapped a little less vigorously or didn't participate in standing ovations, and it was noticeable and kind of funny.

But during the Obama administration, the republicans began openly disrespecting the president.

A quick google search of Obama speech video will show you that the political behavior we saw last night was taught well by the republicans, and is not new.

Honest question. To those who are so upset about this behavior of disrespecting a sitting president during the SOTU address honestly don't remember their own party's behavior 4 years ago? Or do they think it isn't relevant because hey, that's Trump and the other was Obama?

Poor behavior is poor behavior.

For some reason, over the last several decades, the Democrats hate their own country. Maybe it was LBJ, and Vietnam. Oh, wait, he was a Democrat.

It was started by Republicans when Obama took office.

When you have what amounts to a pouting festival in the middle of a State of the Union address, you make yourself look like a spoiled child. Disagreeing with the policies? That's expected. Acting like a bunch of Kindergartners that just got told recess is canceled? That's petty, petulant, and ridiculous. If you can actually defend the Democrats' behavior last night, you're too partisan to have a reasonable discussion about politics.

Remarkably well put.

We see this every day on the forums, people taking glee in upsetting their fellow Americans.

Yes, there is anger and rancor among the Republican base, and they are happy to make their fellow citizens suffer, even when they also damage their own prospects for happiness and health in the process. Such is the twist in their thinking.

More sensible to brand Trump as a fake an un American president. He has the lowest approval rating before his State of the Union speech of any President to date.

You can spin this all you want too. He sets a low moral tone and does nothing to really unify this country. He appeals to one group and that his base of about 39% of the public I guess your next argument will be that 61% of Americans are un-American, huh?

This presidency began badly and will not end well. You will never see it, but I'd encourage those sitting on the fence to take a hard look at Trump and ask themselves if they really want to be associated with this low moral character. Years from now I think many will struggle to explain to their children and grandkids how they allowed this unfit man to become the nation's chief executive.
