Not only that, but the question I have is the following;
Since ORIGINALLY these sanctions were planned to be announced right before the Russian presidential elections ( that are coming in March,) the whole idea was to show Russia's rich that Putin can't protect them, and hence if they want to keep their money, they need to remove him.
However;
While back in the 90ies the US was able to manipulate the political scene in Russia, today it's clearly not a case. With that in mind, it's obvious to the Capitol Hill today, that their darling - Mr. A. Navalny, doesn't have any chance to be either supported or elected in Russia.
So with Putin being gone, the next most popular contender for Russian presidency as of today, is a figure nominated by the Communist party ( and Russian Nationalist forces,) since his popularity is growing before elections.

Thoughts?

Also of note? The list they were supposed to create was supposed to be a list of people directly involved with certain activities in Russia. Instead? They copy and pasted the Forbes list. Not only did they have no intention of making sanctions occur, they didnt even take the time to say who they would be applied to if they did occur. Making any argument that sanctions will come later so much nonsense. They didnt even identify who they were supposed to be placed on. So any claim that they will occur in the future is kind ludicrous.

This who situation is beyond belief.

Congress passes legislation to sanction Russians in order to punish them for interfering in the 2016 election and warn them that sticking their nose in the 2018 is a poor idea.

Trump signs the bill.

Trump ignores it.

Trump administration puts out a list cribbed from Forbes of wealthy Russians and make some noise about how sanctions will come later. Both are just silly.

Meanwhile, Trump and the Republicans are badmouthing Mueller and carrying on about deep state and secret societies, ...

While in Russia, a newscasters states that "Trump is ours again."

Jesus, take the wheel.

Talking Trump refuses to enforce sanctions against his Russian allies

Because he has "no ties to Russia!"

When the orange ignoramus mentions Iran, it's "the sanctions aren't tough enough!"

With Putin, it's "the threat of sanctions is enough."

It's working as planned.

Yeah, now we're to engage in the constructive, childish practice of name calling...
