Sec of Transportation Elaine Chao accepted the check at the press briefing. Federal money will be used as seed money to encourage investment by the private sector for infrastructure. InfraGrant program provides discretionary funding for projects to address critical issues. States and localities that secure some funding of their own get high priority access to Federal funds. 25% of funding will be awarded to rural projects.

Strictly a dog and pony show move. He thinks this will make people feel he is suddenly this wonderful, generous man, willing to give up his paycheck for the good of the country. Not to worry, he is making more on the back end through his businesses that have been enriched by him having this position than he would ever make on the salary of a President.

Why do we care? His pay is $400k a year.

Melania's 'Stormy' overnight trip to Maralago, when she skipped out on Davos, was a mere $75K.

His kids' vacations and personal business trips cost a lot more than that. The guy is making hundreds of thousands off the taxpayers for his weekend resort stays.

So he donates a quarter of his salary? Lol. Color me unimpressed.

Come back when he reveals his tax returns and we know that he's (1) telling the truth (2) seen how he writes it off, and (3) tells us what we've spent on his and his families' personal recreational trips.

If you are trying to make him appear 'generous,' it isn't working.

A lot of taxes that are helping to pay for the Trump family's lifestyles of the rich and famous.

It’s a nice gesture but as someone who is a multimillionaire
/billionaire and likely the richest President we ever had, donating his entire 400k a year to something like Transportation won’t do anything. Especially when transportation cost millions just to build a mile of highway these days. If it was say Obama or another president that was relatively “broke” before the presidency it would mean more but even then with the book tour guaranteed millions post-presidency it doesn’t even matter if any president donated their entire salary.

Tell you what, give me a position where my business can make 100's of thousands just based on me staying in them and bringing the secret service along, and I will toss the occasional crumb out too. And thats not counting all the other ways he has enriched himself based on being president.

Waste of money. Only the simplest of the simpletons would be positively swayed by this move...

It's more than Obama has done in his entire life.

To him charity is getting paid to give a speak that lectures and talks down to others.
