Er, because he knew that there was no way in Hades that a GOP Congress would approve Statehood.

Logistics, being that PR is an island, not effort is the reason the aid to PR is slow.

I believe the democratic party wants a very liberal PR to become a state is because of the electoral college.

You don't seem to be listening to other posters, the media and pretty much everyone else about the sorry state of Puerto Rico's electrical grid.

To blithely wave off decades and decades of neglect and corruption and expect it to be fixed in months is ludicrous.

The attempt to depict is as racism is pretty scummy.

A build-out like that doesn't happen overnight. The blame for this neglect falls at the feet of Puerto Rico's elected officials. Those are the people that controlled the purse strings. To blame anyone else is a deflection on their part.
I'd have to agree with this. But I'd also have to say that aid could have been much more quickly and competently organized and delivered.

That's just not true. Considering thatv PR is an island and there were already FEMA crews in the mist of responding to other disaster areas that happened right before PR was hit. Considering those circumstances the response was outstanding. If PR was a single stand-alone storm event this would be a different story.

It's the only response Democrats know how to use when they have completely lost an argument or election.

Yes, it is in my opinion. It's a majority Spanish Speaking Country and 1/2 of it's residents don't "clearly" look White. Add 2 plus 2?

On the other maybe not, since, that could backfire and turn Florida Blue from Purple.

Trump's not smart enough to have that kind of foresight. I think he doesn't care about PR because he groups them in with illegal immigrants.

Maybe the Trump Administration cared as much about the handling of the Puerto Rico crisis as Puerto Rico did in preparing for a crisis?
Seems to me if you are an island that depends on the mainland for virtually everything that you would put some effort into your own preparations and responses.

Crappy and desperately corrupt. This is a deeply dishonest thread. Libs and Trump haters will just mindlessly bash Trump again while there are plenty of articles detailing the desperate corruption of PR officials while the residents suffer. No amount of federal aid will help as long as it's being robbed.
