The gun fetish insanity continues, despite all appeals to rationality and logic.
Guns are designed to kill people. When you have an accident with one, someone either gets seriously hurt or dies. When you have an accident with a pencil, someone gets a splinter.
The fact that this country has allowed such infantile mental children to steer policy for so long is despicable.
Anyone with an ounce of maturity and a brain knows that introducing more guns into schools will create more deaths then they will prevent, but gun fetishists somehow cannot get past this simple logical step, because the answer to EVERYTHING HAS to be more guns. They love and worship guns, so how can anything but more guns be an answer?

Where is it that you read "constantly" how super smart our educators are? It certainly isn`t here and most of them do not have a masters degree. Should the universities offer a course in gun handling? They can call it Wyatt Earp 101.

They offer a LOT of useless courses already, why not have one that actually teaches something useful?
Here in Florida, a few years ago, a local cop was giving a safety demonstration to some senior citizens, and he asked for a volunteer to come up on the stage to help him. He thought his pistol was unloaded, but one was in the chamber, and he shot her and she died.
If even trained professionals have problems like this, God forbid what would happen if Mrs. Jones, the Librarian, was packing heat. Plus, where are these teachers supposed to keep their guns all day, while i class ? Do we really want guns sitting in his or her desk, where some kid can get ahold of it and kill others ?

WOW, you give 1 incident and want to make up your mind about the tens of thousands of others have received proper gun training.
By your "reasoning" I guess we should ban cars since they KILL a WHOLE LOT MORE then the evil gun does.
I guess there is no such thing as a car "accident", or a tripping accident or any other kind of accident according to the all knowing you.
The Ford recall where the steering wheel falls off. As a driver you have done everything correctly and you have an incident that damages your car or more caused by something not of your doing, then that is an accident.
This officer/teacher (or whatever combination he is) should not have pulled a loaded weapon. There are dummy guns to demonstrate safe handling procedures. Most certified firearms instructors that I follow on social media have all said the same thing.
(BTW, I've got more if you want... guns don't belong in schools)
