By the way, construction of the Border Wall is due to begin next week.

I guess you didn't get the part of this Omnibust bill that stated that while the wall funding was given said wall cannot resemble in any way the wall ideas put forward. Basically they funded chain link fence. OH BOY!

Remember Bush Sr and his "No new taxes" pledge? What happened to him? If Trump lasts through his first term I think the same will happen to him.
One term and out with a "don't let the door hit you in the a$$"...

Agree. I'm not in favor of this bill either.

The congress critters were happy with him being the front man for this freak show while they do their dirt behind the scenes. He is a shuck and jiver if I have ever saw one. His schick is growing tired and the walls are closing in on him. No way in hell does he last 3 more years with the BS he has been shoving down our throats. The circus is getting ready for the final call and if we are lucky the ringmaster will be heading to jail.
So true. They just assumed he would sign anything they put in front of him and so far ~ they were right.

You mean the fence that's funded in the bill?

There is not one republican on this board that doesnt have utter contempt and probably outright hatred for Paul Ryan, Mitch Mcconnell, Lindsay Graham and most mainstream republicans, and even real anger and contempt against President Trump for signing this abomination.

The democrats act like adding over a trillion dollars to the debt is a victory? We now owe more than $21 trillion in debt, roughly $65,000 for every man, woman, and child in this country. Annual deficits are projected to exceed $1 trillion for as far as the eye can see, the debt is expected to top $33 trillion within a decade.

The sky is the limit for our nations debt as the unfunded liabilities of programs such as Social Security and Medicare kick in.

This is our kids future and what we are leaving them, not to mention this is basically a war budget. Both parties are a pile of **** and both parties wrote this omnibus bill. The hatred directed towards Ryan and McConnell is always there among right wingers, its even being directed at Trump by every right winger I have read because everyone wanted change.
That's too funny. Republicans have a majority in the house, all that was required was that they pass it with a simple majority. Current representation of the house is 238R -192D and you want to rant about how Democrats did this? Give.me.a.break.

Trump failed, plain and simple.
In order to fail, he would have had to actually try.

It's as plain as water that while he loves to issue sweeping pronouncements, he has zilch interest in thinking about how things mesh together. All he cares about is telling himself that he's a Very Important Person. There was never any there there.

I expect there will be a strong burst of this kind of anti-humanitarian garbage (anti-gay, anti-foreigner, pro-redneck) to appease the most unintelligent members of his base (white nationalists, christian fundamentalists, fring wing nuts) and to try to silence his more politically moderate critics. All the while he will be exploiting foreign labor, cheating on his wife with nasty ho’s, and firming up back door business deals with people who seek to undermine democracy. Classy.
This.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see hate crime incidents rise too. All of that anger is going to be channeled somewhere.
And they sure aren’t going to look inward and blame themselves for falling for the big con.

lol you still believe Trump is going to build this wall? At this point the only way he can build it is if he pays for it himself.

This is what is in the bill:

• Prohibition against building a solid concrete border wall. The bill directs that the money only pay for designs that exist on the border today.

• $445 million to replace existing fencing, a pot of money that the administration hadn’t initially requested. Replacing existing fences is far less controversial than building new ones. Congressional aides said this would pay for about 45 miles of replacement fencing

• $251 million for the 14 miles of secondary fencing in the San Diego sector asked for by Mr. Trump.

• $641 million for 33 miles of new fencing and levee wall in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Levee walls, which are already in use in Texas, are vertical spans of concrete with bollard fencing on top. This is about half of the 60 miles requested

I’m surprised Trump didn’t veto the omnibus as a distraction to the 60 minutes Stormy Daniels’ interview.

the reasons to continue voting republican are conservative appointments to the supreme court, retaining the 1st and 2nd amendments, and stopping the progressive march towards European style democratic socialism.
