There is a lot more but I wanted to keep it short with just the basics. If you really care to, you can read this: https://home.nra.org/about-the-nra/
Thank you. Yes I do really care.

None of it jives tho with the ferocity with which spokespersons are defending the presence of loaded automatic weapons of modern warfare in public circulation. What s the message ?

I'm surprised anyone would ask that question.

It seems quite obvious. Look around you. What is dividing this country more than just about anything else? Russia loves that stuff. I am fairly certain that Putins popularity is higher among gun lovers than among the general population.

"Putin gave Torshin the responsibility of penetrating not just the NRA, but also the broader Republican establishment in the United States (i.e., National Prayer Breakfast, Dana Rohrabacher, Thomas Massie, etc.). The list of Torshin’s known targets will undoubtedly continue to expand as the FBI and other parties investigate his activities."

We never could have made this up....Republicans loving Russia and Russians and loving their money. Treason, IMHO.

"the product of long-term planning by Vladimir Putin; a bold campaign to befriend and compromise Republican officials in the United States at the highest levels of power; in the interest of systematically degrading America’s power, influence, and democratic institutions."

Well, he did it and it worked. Thanks...all you Republicans out there. You fell right into his hands.

Like how Planned Parenthood receives funding from tax dollars and claims none of it goes toward abortions.

Most NRA efforts are to help keep gun manufacturers exempt from class action lawsuits, the kind that finally went against Big Tobacco. Everything else the NRA does is simply window dressing. The NRA exists to keep gun manufacturers happy and selling guns to people, many of whom should not have them based on criminal records and mental illness.

What is the intended purpose for a gun? What is the intended purpose of a cigarette, car, etc?

Duh. Again you don't think, do you? Suing gun manufacturers is just another way to attempt to get around the Second Amendment. It is dishonest, and underhanded like most Democrat, Leftist initiatives.

Most? No. But they do have interest in defending them from frivolous lawsuits.

More inaccuracy. The NRA does NOT endorse selling to criminals; only law-abiding citizens.

True. The immunity from lawsuits is a means to keep the anti-gunners from bankrupting the gun manufacturers by having to defend themselves from frivolous lawsuits. Most people think it exempts them from any and all lawsuits. What isn't widely put out there is that they are against the gun manufactures being held liable for the criminal misuse of their product by someone. Are car manufacturers sued when a drunk driver kills someone with a vehicle? No. It's no different with a firearms manufacturer. It does NOT shield gun manufacturers from being sued if they sell a defective product.
See my responses above in RED.

You don't know what to make of it?
You are just using another reason to post something that does not match up with your ideological view.

One wonders?
No one without TDS wonders.

NPR has been a leftist source of reporting for decades. The sooner it is defunded by the American taxpayer the better.

It is our oldest civil rights organization dedicated to protecting our Constitutional freedoms.

Leftists feeble efforts to demonize them over the years always fall short, because the NRA does so many positive things.
For example it was about 20 years ago the NRA was accused of being anti-police when the liberals were pushing to ban semi-auto guns under the guise of inaccurately called "assault weapons". The libs were also trying to ban so called "cop killer bullets", and implied most police were against the NRA.
In reality only a few politically motivated big city police chiefs were speaking against them(typically ordered to by their liberal mayors).
However the rank and file cops (many of whom are members/supporters themselves) know the NRA has many programs designed for "actual" gun safety training(Eddie Eagle program), and programs designed for the rank and file police (training courses, competitions, fund raisers, grants, etc., etc.)

Needless to say it would be absurd to make gun manufactures libel for criminal misuse of firearms, and the NRA naturally is on the forefront to prevent that backdoor means gun control.
