Eleven percent of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s 3,000 students are black, but you wouldn’t know it from the media coverage of the school’s horrific mass shooting in February or the gun control movement that sprung up in the aftermath.

Black students gathered in Parkland Wednesday said they felt overlooked and underrepresented by both the media and their peers leading the charge for more gun control. And some of the solutions meant to keep them safer in the wake of a gunman slaughtering 17 of their classmates leave them feeling more afraid than before.

Awww, poor babies. They FELT overlooked. Awww, poor little snowflakes. Eleven percent of a populations should rule the world. Ahhhh, Social Justice. Maybe a free I Phone, and a puppy?

Kai Koerber, a 17-year-old Marjory Stoneman Douglas student, returned to school after the shooting to see his slain classmates’ empty desks turned into memorials — and a campus swarming with police officers. To him, extra cops around doesn’t mean more people to protect him; it means more chances to become a victim of police brutality.

Kai worries that police will racially profile students and treat them as “potential criminals,” particularly students of color.

“It’s bad enough we have to return with clear backpacks,” he said. “Should we also return with our hands up?”

Rev. Rosalind Osgood, a Broward County school board member, said Kai’s comments are exactly why black students’ voices need to be elevated. Without this conversation, she said, she would have never thought of that consequence of heightened police staffing.

Awww, isn't that cute. There voices need to be elevated. For diversity, multi cultural, and inclusive purposes? Now nice.

Osgood, tapped by Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to join a state gun violence task force, said the policy created by adults won’t be effective without input from the students it’s meant to protect. She accepted Wasserman-Schultz’ invitation to the panel with the caveat that she could bring her mentee, Stoneman Douglas student Mei-Ling Ho-Shing.
“I don’t want the minority kids to be angry and feel that they’re being ignored,” she said. “I don’t think anybody’s intentionally excluding them, but nobody’s intentionally including them either.”

Burks said she hopes that this jump starts a conversation about more inclusive solutions.
“Is the solution to less gun violence more guns, just with police officers’ names on them?” she said. “We have to have that conversation.”

There it is! Inclusive. Oh my! And they have to have a conversation. How quaint. A conversation with Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Primary fixer? That will help inclusiveness!

Ke’Shon Newman’s brother was shot nine times on Chicago’s South Side, where gun violence is a daily threat. Now, Ke’Shon is heading to Washington to march with high school students from Parkland, Fla.

Oh, then maybe he shouldn't have been involved in drugs, gangs, crime, and black on black violence with CRIMINALS USING GUNS ILLEGALLY!

Realize the media controls the narrative. No story on the daily slaughter in Chicago and elsewhere, it is not the white folks who write edit and publish, it is the media, most of whom are supporting the democrat party. Example nbc edits a 911 tape to make it sound racist. the media is only interested in things with a racial overtone. B on B murder is bad for the narrative that racism is institutionally sanctioned and cops kill the most blacks.


Dividing the country is the goal, not racial equality. Division breaks up a cohesive voice raised because of common values and concerns. Difficult to forward an unwanted political agenda when all are holding hands and oppose it.


The media has reduced the murders in Chicago to mere numbers. they have no follow-up on people whose lives have been altered by severe injury from the violence. "15 shot over the weekend, 8 killed "..end of story. The media had been known for presenting the human angle, now that is reserved just for cops shooting blacks or white on B crime. the media is good for making problems or movements larger than they really are when it suits they political narrative. Like the 99% vs the 1%. showing the stats where whites most likely to be killed by whites, blacks most likely to be killed by blacks messes with the racist behind every bush narrative.

I got pulled over by cops quite often, only got two tickets, both of which I beat. I was mistaken for a terrorist by cops the day before the murdered cop was to be buried. what do you think happened when the brothers in blue thought they had the bad guys the day before the funeral.

These Black kids need to realize this isn't about them. Young Blacks have been getting killed with guns at alarming numbers for decades and White liberals havren't done a thing about it. This is about the horror of White suburban kids getting shot with a gun. That's what matters. That's what gets White people in the streets protesting. Black kids kindly step to the back of the gun victim bus.
