They tell you who they are by what they do...

Didn't raid the questionable suspects with a bunch of guns and murderous motives... raids representative of the US President (who invaded their safe space).

FBI failed to investigate Florida school shooter.

FBI Statement on the Shooting in Parkland, Florida

On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.

Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps would have been taken.

We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5. The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time.

FBI failed in assessing Pulse nightclub shooter

Did the FBI Miss the Warning Signs for Orlando Gunman?

But not long after the attack, sources revealed that the FBI had investigated the would-be gunman on two separate occasions in recent years. Twice federal authorities said he did not pose a threat.

...
The FBI responded by placing Mateen under surveillance, wiretapping his phones, checking his records, and sending an undercover agent to make contact. The FBI placed Mateen on the terror watch list and interviewed him twice. According to Comey, Mateen had said he made everything up because he was angry at his co-workers, who discriminated against him because of his Muslim background. The investigation lasted about ten months; the FBI concluded that he wasn’t a real threat and removed him from the watch list in May 2014.

FBI failed in assessing Boston Bomber

Russia warned U.S. about Boston Marathon bomb suspect Tsarnaev: report

Russian authorities warned the FBI in 2011 about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of two Chechen brothers accused of carrying out last year’s Boston Marathon bombings, but U.S. authorities missed chances to detain him, NBC News reported on Tuesday.

...
The network said the FBI opened an investigation of Tsarnaev that month conducted by a joint task force of federal, state and local authorities. Tsarnaev was interviewed in person, and a memo was sent to the Customs and Border Protection database called TECS that would trigger an alert whenever he left or re-entered the United States.

But the investigation was closed in June 2011 after finding Tsarnaev had no links to terrorism, NBC quoted the report as saying.

FBI failed to assess Ft. Hood shooter

Lawmaker: Report shows FBI ignored accused Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan out of political correctness

The FBI was too concerned about political correctness and did not launch an investigation into a man who was later charged with killing 13 people in the 2009 attack in Fort Hood, Texas, despite significant warning signs that he was an Islamic extremist bent on killing civilians, according to a lawmaker briefed on the new report.

In emails to a known terrorist, Army Maj. Nidal Hasan expressed his support for suicide bombings and killing civilians, while the terrorist, Anwar al-Awlaki, encouraged Hasan to stay in touch.

...
Soon after the attack, it was revealed that members of two FBI anti-terrorism task forces saw emails between the Army psychiatrist and al-Awlaki beginning in December 2008. Those task forces reviewed the communications and decided they were in keeping with Hasan's research at the time, and as a result, no formal investigation of Hasan was opened. Hasan was writing a research paper about the effects of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.

FBI Aggressive and Proactive on Trump Access Hollywood Tape

Raid on Trump’s Lawyer Sought Records on ‘Access Hollywood’ Tape

The F.B.I. agents who raided the office and hotel of President Trump’s lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, were seeking details on his relationship with the Trump campaign and his efforts to suppress negative information about Mr. Trump, according to three people briefed on the matter.

...
The warrant executed Monday by the agents was striking in its breadth, according to those people. It demanded documents related to the “Access Hollywood” tape in which Mr. Trump was heard making vulgar comments about women, and to other materials related to secret agreements Mr. Cohen made with women in exchange for them not speaking publicly about sexual encounters with Mr. Trump.

EDIT: I want to acknowledge that the FBI has snuffed out at least one possible mass murder attempt of late. I just remembered that I started the thread about PA and 1,600 rounds of ammo that a student had possessed. Just want to be fair with the information, and I give them credit for that... (see post 12).

Sex is important.
It needs to be considered before anything about safety of citizens.

FBI should consider a new moto " lets diddle before we fiddle"

The FBI certainly needs to streamline and make more efficient their protocols set in place to help in protecting the public from mass shooters...absolutely! But what does that have to do with this current investigation? NOTHING!!!

Obviously with the investigations themselves, there is no link.

However, it does tell us what the FBI's priorities are... and what they interpret as a true risk.

Risks regarding the lives of Americans are a lower priority than risks regarding the invasion of their safe space in the government bubble. That's what their actions say.

As you said, the FBI has missed a few things lately.
They won't let that happen this time. This is where they redeem their reputation and take down the Trussia Cabal once and for all.

What a mean, nasty post.

In essence it is being said LEO would not try to stop a crime if they knew it was going to happen.

That is not the way it works.

The FBI was a corrupt agency as soon as they were formed, not sure why anyone would assume they are any different nowadays? Just like decades past, they have their own agenda.

Of all the various LE agencies in the country - and perhaps the world - I "trust" the FBI the most.
That doesn't mean they are perfect people...by any means.

Humans are humans and the "science" of law enforcement and government is not like that of airliners and cars. It is a "fuzzy" type of science.

I was actually grilled once by the FBI - a harrowing experience, but once they realized I was not guilty (I sold something to someone who was using city funds to enrich themselves), they had lunch with me at a nice place. I think they picked up the tab.

The only real Trumpians are down on the FBI is that their Dear Leader said "attack these dogs". Period.
