Why are you so determined to have all young people be seen and not heard?
It is remarkably sad that there are so many people who seemingly have nothing better to do with their time than castigate children for their political awareness.
And it's an absolute shame that these children live in a world where they feel that these statements are necessary.
But let's not try to fix any of that, oh, no.
Let's just blame the kids for actually being aware of the mess that their elders have made.
why not? Ok, maybe not that but we are raising a bunch of disrespectful brats. I can assure you, if any of my grandkids or my great grandkids tried this their parents would make sure they never did it again. These kids have no idea why they even do something like that or what it all means. One doesn't have to agree with all our country does and yes, there are still people who are racists on both sides, but every child should be taught to respect our flag and our national song.
..oh, i agree..."our father who art in heaven...please stop your priests and minister's from diddling the kids"...sick *****s
Oh for heaven's sake, those are few and far between. yes, there are bad people in every profession and yes, we are all human, but to put it the way you do is narrow minded and only partially true.
LOL...kids are born racist, sexist, any phobic (any)...it's NEVER taught by their parents.....
Wait...is it taught or is it ignorance?
Actually the answer to your question is yes. Its a survival instinct as humans that we fear things we are unfamiliar with or seem 'different'. Some overcome these fears better than others.

Taught or ignorance? Does a young child know the difference or do they do what their parents do?
So, in a way, you are correct, these parents are ignorant and teaching their children...

Parents? Teachers? Who taught them this?

Presumably you don't understand what I was trying to say. We are talking about elementary school kids here not young adults that may have been able to form their own opinions of what it means to kneel during the anthem and the ramifications of doing so.
My comments were meant to be read as if a little kid was reading it like "see spot run" etc...
What the kneeling was protesting was the unfair treatment of black people at the hands of the police and other authorities and beyond that it was about a dual America, one for white people and the other for black, brown and miscellaneous.
Once again I have to ask what do elementary school kids know about this other than what they have been taught by parents and teachers?
Have they been taught both sides of the issue or just that America is a bad place full of racism?
Who is using these kids to protest by telling them to kneel?
