It has been discussed on programs I watch that offering a presidential pardon as a bribe to get a defendant to commit perjury or to obstruct justice in some way like destroying evidence IS a crime and thus part of obstructing justice

The "twisted" part would be for Trump to use it to thwart Mueller or for any purpos eto profit himself or his remora minions

And I would remind you that the story has emerged that Dowd was apparently discussing this possibility with both Flynn and Manafort---while they were under investigation...
Very unprofessional and certainly make it appear that Trump was offering a "carrot" to two men facing the "stick" of Mueller's investigation and a likely penalty...

Looks like three people reported that Dowd discussed a pardon with Flynn and Manafort.

And he was supposed to be the brains of the outfit.

When you have a crook for a client, and a crook who believes the way to get out of trouble is by doing more crooked things like obstructing justice you get a situation where an attorney does something that seems very close to witness tampering--although in this case there is no trial--just a DoJ investigation with his client as a "subject of interest"...
Dowd has been around long enough to know how shady that behavior is

Joyce Vance apparently tweeted that the mention of Mueller investigation calling Trump a "subject of interest" came from Trump side--not Mueller side...
Which I guess means in Trump/attorneys POV they either believe that term means Trump is in less danger than they thought he was and maybe he won't have to give testimony under oath to Mueller's team or a Grand Jury...

I guess w/o someone who really has ever tried a criminal case they should be watching some Law and Order or maybe Perry Mason...
