What exactly will he tell his people, that he just suddenly scrapped the whole program?

For what reason?

Kim is going to want something in return, he just hasn't made that public yet. Sounds like he's baiting Trump. He'll get World opinion in his favor for scrapping his nuclear weapons program, and then drop the other shoe, which is probably going to be a demand that the US withdraw from South Korea, and if Trump balks, then Trump will be the "bad guy."

That is a great point.

However, is he really rolling over easy? "If" economic sanctions truly are hurting their country severely and "if" the sabre rattling is making some that are high up in North Korea nervous...Kim has to start looking over his back more than normal for a coup. Kim might get anxious to take some of the pressure off.

My gut says it is a ruse, although I hope it isn't.

And even if NK were to decommission all of their nukes -- Trump shouldn't get credit for it. If NK de-nukes its because China told them to "or else." KJU is not going to listen to Trump.
I mean really?

Those of you who think Trump has zero to do with this obviously don't understand the relationship between China and NK, nor how Trump's actions toward China have contributed.

We'd be stupid to take Kim at face value, but that there are even noises being made about denuclearizing is significant progress.

We have? When?

The New York Times:

If the statement is corroborated by North Korea, it would be the first time Mr. Kim has indicated that his government is willing to discuss relinquishing nuclear weapons in return for security guarantees from the United States. Until now, North Korea has said its nuclear weapons were not for bargaining away.

Maybe it goes nowhere, but let's not make up stuff just because it is Trump.

Take heart, liberals. Someone, somewhere, we can't trust will keep their nukes. World peace will not happen.

That should cheer you up.

Don't worry, they'll find some way to make this out to be a bad thing because Trump is responsible and not some liberal politician and CNN will run that story 24x7.
