If it took you a year to save $10,000, then spending it in the wrong place costs you a precious year of your life to replace. Every time gov't takes your money, they are taking the time that you spent to earn that money. Life is too short to spend it working for money that gov't takes from you to waste.

You're going to pay taxes in one way or another, unless you are an anarchist and just want no government 😒

uh.. of course we are because we need to pay for services etc. but there is a point where it becomes theft (theft of our time on earth). Of course it's easy for someone who pays little taxes to insist SOMEONE ELSE should pay more. Thinking that way is the height of ignorance.

As I said... Thinking that way is the height of ignorance, (politicians who want more power love people who think like this). It's not just ignorance toward others but ignorance to finance.

If you want to control others keep them broke.

That's one of the first libertarian points that I heard, back when I was trying to figure out where I stood politically. It always stuck with me... the fact that it's your time, your LIFE, and people are claiming a higher say over it than you.

Are Taxes Fair? If You Answer Yes, You're Probably Poor
when you’re earning more—and you’re at least theoretically paying more in taxes on those earnings—you’re more apt to think the government takes too much. On the flip side, when your income is meager and the federal income tax you owe is similarly meager or perhaps nonexistent, there’s a greater tendency to feel that the system is fine and dandy.

Politicians who want more money funneled into gov't coffers will use class war rhetoric to encourage mobs to support them in raising taxes "on the other guy". So when the mob buys into it, gov't raises taxes, they collectively are claiming a higher say over your time. In the end, it's up to us to stop thinking of higher income as a way to get ahead because as we climb the income ladder, politicians and mobs will lay claim to more of our money (and time).

I was shocked how much the gov't took as my income grew so I learned to be tax efficient and make other changes. Now my income is lower, I spend more time with family and friends and I'm happier. I've taken more of my time back.

I took my time back, too. Retired early. Shuttered my business. My employees had to seek employment elsewhere. I pay a lower tax rate now because my income is lower, but it's still too much compared to the 47% of 1040 filers who pay no federal income tax whatsoever.
