How did he disrespect anyone? He went to the range with his father and learned to shoot. He then did what almost all young people do these days, he posted about it. I didn't see where he referenced anything or anyone specifically connected to the Parkland incident.

Once the Deputy got involved common practice is that the parents are to be notified and allowed to be present during any questioning.

That's been settled school law for a couple decades. The rules for sworn officers is different than for school security (if they're employed by the school system even if they are sworn).

That's why locker searches are conducted by school employees rather than law enforcement, school employees don't need probable cause.

Unfortunately in Florida it is not the law that the parents are to be contacted. That's why you must teach your children how to respond.

That's somewhat surprising because it was one of the "guidances" issued by the Obama Administration Department of Education to lessen disparate impact issues in school discipline even though it had been standard prior to that.

Agreed........ I taught my children from an early age that your response in any questioning situation that involves authorities the answer is "call my parents". When no longer a minor the answer is "lawyer".

Many of these mass shooters are law abiding citizens until the day they lose their ****.

I suspect the kid knew what he was doing when he posted about the firing range on Facebook.

The question of where he got the gun, who he went with, etc. were legitimate questions. You can't tell in the post he is with his Dad. https://twitter.com/scrowder/status/987722764260954112

In fact you can't tell what his intent is at all.

No biggie -- all he had to do was answer the question. He wasn't stopped from doing anything.

And this isn't just some random kid. ....this kid has three twitter accounts -- one is verified (blue check). This kid was on a mission and purposely created the storm.

Law enforcement & school admin were doing their job. Nobody was denied any rights.

Exactly! And if you look like you might be an illegal alien just produce your papers and identification when asked by the police. Everyone knows we have an invasion going on down on the southern border. No brown person should have a problem with being stopped and interrogated. It's not racial profiling. It's just common sense reality.

Are you denying that many, many posters haven’t stated during discussion about blacks being stopped and questioned that they should have simply complied?

Every picture of a black person holding a gun, has them in some thuggie gangsta pose. And never at a shooting range, wearing ear protection and safety glasses. And certainly not wearing a polo shirt.
Every picture?
You must have an inordinately large amount of time on your hands to have seen every picture.
Would that include pictures of black LEOs and those in the military?

How about the black man killed holding the toy gun in Walmart?
Was he in a “thuggish gangsta pose?”

Clearly you see only what you want to see.
What I see is someone blinded by racism.
