Hell did freeze over..... and pigs are flying everywhere.
The shale oil boom, brought many into the area. As a barrel of oil came down in price, those jobs slowly have been eliminated.
I have shut both wells off here, because the price isn't pulling much of a profit for my resources.
We are repeatedly told here on CD that Los Angeles is hell, and North Dakota is heaven.
We are also repeatedly told that blue states are hell, and red states are heaven. We are repeatedly told that the problems you find in blue states simply do not happen in red states - or at least, they happen much less.
It's because they had a MASSIVE oil boom causing an influx of workers and there wasn't enough housing built for them. Many of them simply set up camp as they're technically living there, but return home when their contracts are up.

No that's just something you made up. A few posters back and forth means exactly what now? Stop with fake drama

North Dakota is heaven when it comes to social issues compared to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
North Dakota's homeless surge is a short-term issue from people who moved there when oil prices were high. Many were homeless a short-time when the oil prices decreased and either likely found jobs or moved back to their hometowns.
California homeless surge is permanent and will get much, much worse before it gets better. No matter how much they raise taxes, it will get worse. No matter how non-profits organize, it will get worse.
They already throw lots and lots of money at their homeless issue and it the more rapidly they throw taxpayers money at it, the more
Los Angeles and San Francisco is streets lined with poop and used hyperdermic needles and hepatitis outbreaks thanks to voting for the Democratic party. The more they raise taxes the worse it will get, doesn't matter what they increase those socialist taxes on in California it will just get worse.
I wonder how many homeless on the streets of Bismarck and Minot compared to Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco on a January day?
The homeless issue in California is due to voting Democratic, no matter how corrupt and silly the politician is.
The corrupt liberals who run Los Angeles pretty much brewed a perfect recipe for massive homeless crisis.
North Dakota is a buffet of hepatitis, poop and urine in public, needles on streets and parks like California cities are.
Southern California is on the verge of a public health crisis over this because the corrupt California liberal politicians keep raising taxes and say they will have get the homeless numbers down but nearly all of it is used in a wasteful manner and much of it just lines the pockets of liberal Democratic politicians who should never be trusted with hard-working tax payer money.
California can use the weather as an excuse but that is all it is an excuse. Big, big public health issues because they use tremendous amounts of excuses.
57,000 homeless in Los Angeles and rising fast with over 42,000 Unsheltered.
Los Angeles alone has more homeless than some of the largest cities in some states and nearly as many homeless as the city of Bismarck has total population.
Oh well, street after street and neighborhood after neighborhood of tents, litter, shopping carts and tarps with feces and urine.
I doubt that people stay homeless for years and years in North Dakota like Los Angeles.
Odd, thing is that the charities, non-profits and government in North Dakota actually do what they can and aren't full of corruption and flushing money down the toilet like Los Angeles with massive sales tax increases.

Nevertheless, North Dakota has got to be one of those few states that is even a worse state to live in than Oklahoma.

I should have said North Dakota is NOT a buffet of hepatitis, poop and urine in public, needles on streets and parks like California cities are.
For the same price, 378 square feet with large chain link fences in Los Angeles in Sunland which has one of the concentration of undocumented "guests" of any neighborhood in California.
Don't understand how either is a bad place to live, very high quality of life compared to California for the middle-class and working-class.
Bismarck, Grand Forks and Oklahoma City don't have 57,000 homeless like Los Angeles does.
Oh, well Los Angeles problem not any one else's. Liberalism coming home to roost in Los Angeles.
The failed city with 57,000 homeless mayor wants to be President also.
North Dakota and Oklahoma have every thing to offer working and middle-class that California does not offer.
Oklahoma City has much, much higher job growth rates than LA. No comparison on apartment rents and home prices.
2.4% job growth in OKC
1.4% job growth in Los Angeles.
