Just a reminder that this back and forth over ZTE being able to sell cell phones that are a national security risk is part of trade negotiations with China that have not gone as well as hoped.

Trump lied when he announced that China had agreed to a $200 million reduction in the trade surplus. China diplomatically announced that this was a "misunderstanding."

The U.S. negotiators are holding "profanity-laced shouting matches" in full view of the Chinese negotiators. Always a good time.

After this initial round of talks mercifully came to an end, the U.S. team blabbed to the press, disparaging one other as well as the talks.

Forward ever.

Precisely. & as you alluded to in your earlier post re: Constitutional violations, specifically local & foreign Emoluments clauses; these have been present since day 1. Mr. Trump has done nothing to rectify although has made various (back & forth) promises to do so, also from day 1. There are many examples of the 'blurring of the lines between the Trump family's business interests & the business of the US ~ many conflicts of interest have been identified from day 1. Here's just 1 example illustrating the 'blurry lines':

IVANKA TRUMP SITS IN FOR HER FATHER AT A G20 SUMMIT MEETING
The First Daughter took his seat when he stepped out for a few one-on-one meetings.

...Normally, there is nothing untoward about an aide sitting in on a meeting like this, except for the fact that this represents yet another blurring of the lines between Trump’s family and the business of the nation. ...

Was she representing the Trump family's best interests or the Nation's?

Begs the question, whose interest is Mr. Trump representing?

Yup. Additionally Ivanka's trademarks likely mirror Mr. Trump's earlier self-dealing. From about a year ago:

China approves nine Trump trademarks it had previously rejected
  • New provisional approvals shore up president’s brand in China
  • Intellectual property lawyers say decision ‘suggests special treatment’

The latest example of Trump lying and trying to besmirch the new media as "faux news" is Trump claiming someone in his own WH doesn't exist...
I just wonder if that story played on Fox
Don't watch that channel so don't know but doubt it...

Looks like Trump must have been told how much it is costing to defend WH staff.

He is tweeting about the cost for those young people who came starry eyed to DC. I seem to remember that the WH has a fund to defend, as long as the staff does not fold.

No telling how far Hope Hicks has folded, or a lot of the other staff. His ex-staff needs to pick how far they want to defend the liar in chief.
