You don't understand what is meant by "trickle down." It's about more jobs being created, and opportunities for advancement within companies because of business expansion.

It does NOT mean that everyone automatically see's more money "raining down" into their pockets.

Only the rubes believed it was going to benefit them in any way. And they will continue to pretend that their whopping $1.50 a week more has been a great financial boon to them. Because to do otherwise would be to admit they were played, yet again, by the GOP.

You have to wonder what the GOP's real opinion of these idiots are. They can lie and lie and lie and these saps still vote for them. I bet Republicans have a good laugh about them on a regular basis.

Corporate executives were already sitting on piles of cash and were clear that they would likely buy back shares, use it to automate factories in order to cut down on their workforce, give shareholders dividends and executives bonuses, etc.

Only the rubes believed the lie that this tax scam was going to goose the economy.

Even many who got the extra buck fifty would have been glad to do without in order to pay down the national debt.

I imagine McConnell and the Republicans are yukking it up. I understand they are circulating a balance-the-budget bill.

But they're getting a huge laugh there.

Well, it plays right into their ultimate goal of slashing the social safety net to nothing, because now they can point to the ballooning deficit--the one they just increased by more than a trillion dollars with their last two bills-- and say we can't afford to help our citizens because we just don't have the money.

Many of the faithful rubes would be sucker-punched by these slashes, should they succeed in implementing them, but my guess is even then, they would remain faithful to the party that continually screws them. All the GOP has to do is mention gays or abortion or guns and the fools will line right up to check the box next to every (R) on the ballot. Works every time.

No--the tax savings didn't rain down on many except the exponentially wealthy
Compare the % of benefits to someone like Mnunchin and someone earning/filing on 55K

And re companies with their incentive to "grow" because of the reduced tax rates freeing up money for expansion
They don't want that--they are afraid they are choaking off the consumer base
The money is going to stock buybacks and some limited wage increases...

Catepillar is case in point--

Really? Most of Trumps lies have been easily verifiable, in real time as he speaks.

On the other hand, most of what Trump claims is #fakenews, turns out to be true.

While everyone was fussing about Michele Wolf speaking the truth at the WHCD, Trump was in Michigan lying up a storm.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/30/polit...ion/index.html

"We have the worst laws anywhere in the world." "And the laws are so corrupt, they are so corrupt." ... says the President of the United States.

"The Democrats don't care about our military. They don't. They don't care about our borders or crime." More BS.

"There were 32,000 people. I finished speaking at 1:00 in the morning on Election Day. Thirty-two thousand people."

The rally Trump is talking about was in Grand Rapids on the night before/early morning of Election Day. There were 4,200 people there. Not 32,000.

"They start something based on a document that was paid for by the DNC and Hillary Clinton."

"For the billionth time: The FBI investigation, which became the special counsel's investigation, was not launched because of the Steele dossier. Multiple intelligence officials have made this clear -- over and over again. Also, we know for a fact that the FBI investigation was launched in July 2016 because of information regarding Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos bragging to an Australian official that the Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton."

"In the old days, when the newspapers used to write, they would (put) names down. Today they say, sources have said that President Trump -- sources. They never say who the source is."

Another lie. Anonymous sources have existed since the start of journalism. Someone needs to tell the man about Deep Throat/Watergate.

"Chrysler is moving back to Michigan from Mexico."

"Nope!"

It just goes on and on. Trump claims the Democrats want to do away with the 2nd Amendment. There is simply no evidence that 1) Democrats want to do this or 2) Democrats could do this even if they wanted to. Yet he tells this lie constantly.

The gullible cheer at the lies. Wave their little red caps, and write their checks to Trump's legal fund.

All of which have more credibility than Fox News or Donald Trump, and by a wide margin.
