Trump was clearly wrong to say the press is the enemy of the people, but only because he made it a broad-brush statement. Not all of the press is the enemy of the people, but much is. When they lie (e.g. Dan Rather 'fake but accurate') to influence politics and to destroy liberty, they ARE an enemy of the people.
Trump, as usual, is guilty of being sloppy with wording, but nothing more.
Let's say that's the new standard to be labeled "enemy of the people." Why shouldn't we apply that same standard to Trump -- lying to influence politics and destroy liberty?

Why can't trump be more specific and point out the actual instances where the press reports inaccurate stories?
Oh that's right, because he can't. Donald Trump is a snowflake, and criticism drives him mad. So like any child, he lashes out and attacks people personally but can't actually argue facts and truths, because he has no argument.
For example, If Trump were to actually tweet out "Jim Acosta said it rained today but that is a lie it was sunny all day in DC," he would have much more credibility.
But because the media, though biased, is reporting truths, Trump has no counter. So instead, Trump insults them with blanket, general statements like "fake news" and "enemy of the people." Or he has them banned from press briefings.
