Trump never wanted to be POTUS. In fact anyone but him was fine. He saw a run for the president as a possible money maker. Books, maybe a movie, hotel deals etc.
Michael Jordan outlined the reason why he was reluctant to talk about politics, let alone enter into it....
Jordan was afraid of losing half his Air Jordan sales.
Trump could have run for President in the 1980s or 1990s (and if you look at his yearly visits to the Letterman show he always spoke about politics in a very passionate way), but didn't want to lose half his business.
Trump only ran for President when he realized nobody else was going to save America.
I bet he regrets it now. Of course he and most everyone thought Trump would be the easiest to beat. They didn’t count on him talking about immigration and getting more fair trade deals. And Bill didn’t think his wife would ignore his advice and instead run on the idea that the white working class was lost to the Democrats forever. They weren’t, but now they might be. Her campaign team was incompetent.
Her loss had more to do with all of her past criminal activities.
To be honest, that was a great strategy by Bill and he probably already had dirt on Trump that he intended to use once Trump was nominated. Trump was the only viable Republican that Hillary had a chance against.
I don’t think so. I think the only other Republican candidate who could have beaten Hillary was Marco Rubio, though I would have loved to see Rand Paul get the nomination. I doubt he would have beat her though. Ted Cruz would have lost for sure, as would John Kasich. That’s my opinion, but I’m sticking to it.
