Yes, it certainly has mattered.
Longtime Democrats who have voted that way for years, have been leaving the party in sheer disgust at the crying, whining, and hysterical screeching of their party official who have been moving relentlessly to the left, insulting and demeaning every Republican they can find, and mindlessly resisting everything Donald Trump has done, even siting stonily silent during the State of the Union speech as he described nonpartisan victories such as rising employment, the rescue of prisoners in foreign lands, bringing foreign leaders to the table such as Km Jung Un, etc.
The Democrat party will be a long time recovering from the damage done to the party by the fanatics who have been running the party. In the last ten years, Democrats have lost both houses of Congress, the Presidency, scores of gubernatorial seats and state officials, more than a thousand all told.
And now with increasingly nutty people filling the leadership seats and proposing schemes that grow crazier by the day, it looks like the Democrat party's headlong stampede into hatred, irrelevance and leftism is only just getting started.

Wrong! The con-man in the White House isn't worth the energy hate saps from the hater while doing nothing to the hated. But it is worth bringing up the continual lies emanating from his administration, kindly labeled 'alternative facts' by its spin doctors.
LOL. They are symptoms that people care about this. Do insults hatred matter or work? Thats the question? Is the OP new to the board? Have you read some of the things said by those on the right here, especially when Obama was president, or when Trump won?
I think the answer is clear based on Trump and his followers. They do not seem to hurt.
I think the best example of this was the VERY popular picture of two Trump supporters wearing F*** your feelings T shirts. And lately the response has been a picture of Michelle Wolf with a comment of "So I did. I f******d their feelings". It reflects both the view on the right that this hatred, and insults is a good thing. And the irony of their insane responses when it was applied to them.

Pretty easy to see NOKO, Iran, ISIS, Antifa, Pakistan, Yemen, and the Democrat Leftwingers all have one thing in common:
